Last weekend was my birthday, and I packed more tea, cake, ice cream and food into a few days than I thought was possible. I ate lunch out for my birthday itself (post here) and then in the evening we watched The wolf of wall street with a tub of Ben and Jerrys core ice cream each. I liked the film, it was long but I didn’t feel bored at any point, impressively! On Saturday we had a lazy day, then headed out for dinner with 13 friends from school for Mexican food. I admit I drank a fair few Mojitos, then a bottle of cider at the pub afterwards. It was the first time I got drunk since I got pregnant (well actually I got pretty drunk when I was pregnant but before I realised I was, on mojitos funnily enough!) so the next morning was spent inhaling a cooked breakfast and then cooking a roast dinner as we had friends over for dinner. I got spoilt rotten by my friends and family, and am being treated to a day out in London by my mum today. I’m not one for present hauls on the blog but I loved everything I got and felt lucky to know so many generous and kind people.
For dinner on Saturday I wore a dress that I got with a well timed voucher that I won from Frolics and Fashion, Eloise’s blog, I got a few other bits too so I’m sure they’ll appear on here soon! The dress (from In love with fashion) enabled me due to its shift style to stuff myself stupid with fajitas and mojitos and didn’t feel the need to hold my belly in when toddling around the restaurant. I attempted to match my eye makeup with the colours in the dress (only not the yellow… because does yellow eye shadow really suit anyone?) It’s a pretty naff photo but that’s what happens when you live in your PJs till it’s time to go to dinner when it’s dark.

I used mostly MAC eyeshadow, stars and rockets as a base, and steamy as a liner, it’s a deep green but it’s not showing up that well here. For the socket I used a goldy shade from a sleek pallet. I wish there was a miracle cure for under eye bags, no matter how much concealer I use they’re still there!
I’ve now managed to get tonsillitis so I am consuming about 4 gallons of honey and lemon a day and am quite glad the baby doesn’t seem to scared by my croaky voice!
Happy Friday all!

  1. Happy Birthday! I love the eye makeup – I’d love to be able to make mine look like that!

My sister recommended YSL Touche Eclat (I think that’s how you spell it!) for my undereye bags and I have to say I was skeptical (I’m not a big wearer of makeup anyway) but it actually does make a big difference – might be worth trying to see if it works for you? People at work are always commenting how well I look when I wear it which I find quite funny as I’m normally worn out!

  2. Love the dress, you looked gorgeous 🙂 Sounds like a good birthday, who doesn’t love a good moijito?

  6. Stunning eyes! I’ve desperately trying to find eye shadow I’m not allergic to – having suddenly become allergic to all my usuals!
