In which I share my bedside manner…

… well, bedside table. ha, had you fooled for a mere second!

Above are all the bits that hover around my bedside table, which is actually fairly neat for once. The drawer underneath this however is full off crap that I have swept into it from the top. whoops.

Necessities: lipbalm/immune chewy things/DAB-Ipod dock thingy/ear plugs/ Kalms (do not work!)

Non essentials: uber luxurious body butter/candles/filofax (flowery thing you can see the side of) / candles/ incense holder/ cross stitch/ notebook

And tucked between my bedside table and my bed are the books that I am currently or about to be reading (and tissues)

I’m currently reading Kazuo Ishiguro: The Remains of the day, and then will be reading the Dodie Smith book. To see what else I am reading/wanting to read have a look at my Goodreads profile. You can also have a look at this post, from a couple of months ago, which I would love if anyone else who is a reader did too! (btw I am not enjoying The Remains of the day very much!) My lamp was a birthday present many years ago from a friend, its has tiny little people on it that reflect onto the wall! The flowery spine you can see on the right side is my wedding planner, kindly given to me by Sophie!

And saving the best till last, Zoe ever so kindly sent me one of her new bookmarks to review. I was sent this gorgeous one, with navy blue velveteen ribbon with cute little nautical charms (I am hoping this is because I am from a seaside town?!) which called ‘Anchors Away’, and is one of a collection of 5 that you can purchase at Birds and Blossoms her online store, each one is a hugely reasonable £2 and shipping is just £1.

Perfect for presents and for treating yourself, you can see that the charms hang at the top and the bottom of the book, holding your place without slipping out, or without the need to (dun dun dunnnn) fold a corner over! (guilty i’m afraid!) and the size is perfect for an average paperback book.

What books are on your to read list? and what necessities to you keep by the bed? (keep it clean please!)

  1. Those bookmarks are gorgeous, might have to purchase my self one:)I was about to buy The Remains Of The Day, but now you’ve said that I might have to think again haha! xx

  2. This is such a cute bookmark. I have the essential lamp, alarm clock, glasses, phone and heap of jewellery on my table. Yours is uberneat. I tend to knock everything over on mine.

  3. I personally find all of Ishiguro’s books to be boring and badly written, but then again I haven’t made a very good living from writing, so I don’t think my opinion holds very much weight 😛
