Little Loves in December

See ya 2018! Here’s my last ‘little loves’ post of the year, a catch up on what I’ve read, watched and heard etc.

Read

I’ve read a tonne of books in December, mostly because I didn’t work/use my laptop/do much on the internet over Christmas. My favourites this month were This is Going to Hurt and The Neighbors (which has the american spelling even though it’s set in England which annoyed me!) The Road to Ruin was good too but a little much to take in in a few places, and another war-based one, you’d think I’d have had enough after reading three novels set in the war in November.

My aim for the year was to hit 50 books, and I read 62 in total. I think I’ll keep my target for 2019 at 60. I’ll do a bit of a book round  blog-post if I can find the time sharing my favourites and some of the genres I enjoyed this year, but if you want to join me on goodreads.com/lozkp then please do!

Watched

I’ve watched SO much this month. I didn’t really go out at all in the evenings in December and also sometimes watch things whilst I work too.

I watched the films Dumplin and Hangman, both were fun but for different reasons! I finished watching Rake on Netflix too, which finished too soon! I’m trying to keep up to date with Riverdale but now that’s weekly I keep forgetting, and the same with Madam Secretary too! I much prefer to binge things! I loved the festive TV too, ‘Click and collect’ was good fun, and of course the Call the Midwife that was on on Christmas Day! I watched Zog with the kids, as well as the other previous Christmas animations like Room on the Broom and Stick Man.

Heard

Arlo singing ‘Reindeer the red nose’ instead of Rudolph, as well as singing fa la la la laaa quietly a lot of the time. CUTE! Both kids also sing ‘hot silver bells’ instead of hark hear the bells, but loved the Carols we played on road trips as much as the traditional Christmas songs.

Made

A bloody good Christmas roast dinner for 6, plus turkey dinosaurs and fries for the kids… Thankfully we were at my MILs and her cooker is a lot bigger than mine!

Wore

Things with elasticated waistbands, mostly.

And Lastly…

Puzzles! Sam bought a fun 1000 piece festive puzzle that we all did together (well, Sam did a lot of it but the rest of us helped) and now we’re thinking Puzzles might be a new ‘together’ hobby for 2019! I’ll keep you posted…

I’ve also loved spending so much time with my three favourite people exploring, as well as our Santa visit to Leeds Castle and a day at Ightham Mote earlier in the month we visited Angelsey Abbey and Blicking Hall and had a good stomp around Sheringham Park too during the holidays!
