Travel: Mundesley Beach in Norfolk

Last Monday we spent the morning at Mundesley Beach on the Norfolk Coast. A gorgeous expanse of sandy beach, multi coloured bold, beautiful beach huts and a gently sloping shore, perfect for paddling! In all honesty there’s not a lot more to say about it other than the kids loved it! We arrived around 10am and it wasn’t at all busy, but by the time we left a couple of hours later it was really filling up with families marking their pitches with windbreakers and deck chairs. The sandy beach was wide enough for ball games, and the way the sand slopes so gently is perfect for little paddlers, unlike some of Brighton’s beaches that have a sudden drop a few feet into the water!

Mundesley Beach has life guards on duty, as well as public loos (in decent states of cleanliness too!) and a cafe selling hot and cold food and drinks. Of course there were a couple of little shops selling balls, buckets and spades and little flags for decorating sand castles… if you have kids that prefer to build them rather than knock them down! We parked at the public car park, next to a park and skateboard ramp, and walked down the hill to the beach, it wasn’t too far to walk really but a few people had trolleys to lug all their bits and pieces!

Situated just south of Cromer, it’s not a long drive from Sams mums house, so we’ll definitely be back again next time we’re up if it’s sunny, or even if it isn’t!
