Days out: Nyman’s Gardens & some new boots

So I was ready for autumn to arrive, I had got all my tights out the bottom drawer and fluffed up my jumpers ready for wearing, and swapped flipflops for boots! Then Sunday happened! Glorious sunshine and warmth descended upon us after an overcast morning us, so we headed to one of our local National Trust properties Nyman’s for the afternoon. Annoyingly I had left my SD card for my camera in my laptop, so all these photos are taken with my camera, but actually they could be a lot worse!

There is a semi-derelict house, plenty of gardens to explore and a second hand bookshop, the perfect place for a picnic with friends! Athena spent the afternoon hurtling around picking up leaves and befriending any elderly couple that came within 10 feet of her, and chasing after her friend who sadly for Athena, can run a lot faster! The adults scoffed a picnic whilst batting away wasps, then we all headed for a stroll round to look at the house, via the ice cream cart of course! I’m not normally one for really appreciating flowers, I never buy them for my home and have killed off most plants I’ve ever owned, but some of the flowers in Nyman’s are just gorgeous and beg to be photographed!

Because the day had started off a little overcast I’d donned my new La Redoute boots, which I fell in love with on their site after being asked if I wanted to pick something to review. I love biker style boots but often they come with a much higher heel which I am not a fan of, but these are the perfect height! The chain detailing and studded straps top it off and I love pairing chunky boots with floral dresses and cardigans! They were perfect for stomping around the slightly damp grass in, I’m ready for autumn to arrive so I can wear them daily!

My dress is an old Miss Selfridge number, it has a really pretty open back with crossed straps but I didn’t get Sam to take a photo from behind, daftly! I love the neckline and the 3/4 length sleeves, perfect for the slightly cooler weather!

Have you donned your Autumn wardrobe yet? Bought yourself some new winter boots? Or are you fully embracing this last week of warm weather and still in the flip flops and skirts?

  1. Oh wow, looks lovely. I’m a little bored of all the local Gardens round here, wish I loved near you! The new boots are great, I’d forgotten Laredoute existed actually so thanks for the reminder!

  2. Oh wow the boots! I used to have some similar to that but brown years ago! I kind of want them!! The gardens look pretty too!

  3. I am absolutely ready for autumn clothing but being preganant I think I am extra hot and can’t really pile on the layers like I want to, haha. I do love those boots. I have been looking around for boots to buy for this autumn/winter…I may not know what size jeans/tops to look for, but I can still purchase shoes!
