Interiors: Shared bedroom storage ideas

kids storage

Eventually Athena will be sharing her room with Arlo, so I’ve been thinking ahead to how to make it work, with all their clothes and toys needing homes! Some of my favourite items are shown above, although some are more practical that others!

Firstly I turned to Vertbaudet who as well as some gorgeous clothing styles for kids also do a great range of bedroom storage and decor. The stacking boxes and the toy cart are both really useful ways of making storage look fun! I actually have a voucher to use on their website after a competition win earlier this year so I think I should do some spending soon!

I then took a look at Next, and was nicely surprised with their range as I sometimes find it a little too cutesy! The chalkboard boxes are pretty cool although I’m not that keen on the ‘my stuff’ wording, I’d turn them around! The cute little brightly coloured apple storage box is probably a bit pointless as it wouldn’t hold much, but perhaps good for jewellery and little things of Athenas once she gets a bit older, but I really like how it looks!

The chunky oak sideboard from Furniture Plus Online would double up as a changing table, and then later could have some shelves on it to maximise the space. Drawers for nappies and wipes etc would keep them tidy and tucked away and the large cupboards beneath could be used for bedding, shoes or toys.

Finally the dolls house desk & wooden chest seat are from the ever creative Not on the Highstreet, although probably a little out of my price range at the moment as they are made to your own specifications!

Please let me know if you’ve got any tips for shared bedroom storage, or have done any posts on it, I need all the ideas I can get!

This is a collaborative post, all words and opinions are my own.

I love stuff that the kids can use themselves to help tidy up; like the push a long thing up there and the open storage compartments on shelves that they can put things in and out as they please (I can visualise them in my head!). I’ve got some of those “storage ideas for kids room” series saved on my pinterest which could help- obvs not specific for two but might be useful for inspiration. I also love the great kids trading company or whatever it’s called!!! xx

I found so many great bedroom storage ideas here which are very innovative. Keeping our bedroom more functional and clutter free is indeed crucial. This makes our bedroom more appealing as well as it creates a positive atmosphere.
