Six hundred posts and why I love blogging

Blogging

Well I never, six hundred whole blogposts. Well that’s what my dashboard tells me I have now… i’m not going to manually check that it is right but instead I’ll take its word for it. I started this blog in September 2011 so it’s just over three years old too. I know that 600 posts isn’t a particularly huge milestone, I don’t post every day of the week (although there have been periods when I have) or post to a specific schedule and I don’t have huge amounts of followers, and I have no idea what my seo stats look like unless I have to look it up because someone asks, but I love writing this blog and that is what is important.

My blog has seen me through wedding planning, a first pregnancy (and a third of this second one)  a new baby, as well as a house move and several holidays. I like to record things for prosperity here, it’s the only place that I do as I don’t keep a personal diary. I hope that people enjoy reading my waffle, and don’t mind the odd sponsored post or review that may not be relevant to them. I do always retain my own voice and personality when I write reviews and paid for posts, and I hope that people appreciate that. The moment you as a reader stop seeing my personality in my posts I give you full permission to smack me round the face with a wet kipper, or any other gross thing that might be to hand. I wish that there were more hours in the day and that I could turn my list of blog post ideas into actual blog posts, but i’m slowly but surely working through it!

I love blogging for the release it gives, and also for the opportunities and good things I have gained from it. I’m not just talking about nice things to review although they’re obviously much appreciated. I’m talking about all the amazing friends I’ve gained, people who I talk to online only, and people who I have met in ‘real life’. I can’t even begin to list them all here for fear I’d forget someone and they’d disown me. But those girls (most of my friends were guys before I started blogging actually!) mean the world to me. From the late night Whatsapp conversations, to them re tweeting my blogposts and everything in between… I know that even if I stopped blogging tomorrow I would have gained so many amazing people from it that it would have all been worth it. And that right there is as mushy as I’ll ever get in public…

So really this post is just me saying thank you, to my readers and to whoever invented blogging…Here’s to another 600 posts and another three years (and more!) of writing.

Happy Blogging folks!

ps! I’m looking for a few guest posters for the first week of November, any topic goes, just give me a shout on twitter or email if you’re interested!
