Once Arlo turned 6 months old a couple of weeks ago I started to attempt to get more of a bedtime routine going, in the hopes that it would lead to a more peaceful nights sleep for us all! Sadly he’s still waking up numerous times each night for a feed but that’s fine, but he is falling asleep more quickly now which means I get a little bit of my evening back again!

Now instead of feeding to sleep on the sofa with whatever else is happening going on around us (toddler, tv, dinner prep etc) we retreat to bed with the curtains closed and the lights off for a feed, and now we listen to Slumberland as part of our winding down routine. If we’ve had a bath that night then i’ll pop the CD on for his massage and then feed him to sleep and transfer him into his cot next to our bed. I’m hoping in the next few weeks to try and start transitioning him into it slightly awake, wish me luck!

Humphrey Berney sings a gorgeous collection of classic songs and lullabies, he has such a relaxing singing voice that I’ve fallen asleep listening whilst feeding Arlo on more than one occasion! I also sing or hum along to a few, there are lots that I recognise from my own childhood. Humphrey was in fact a male Nanny pre singing career, I bet his little charges had no problem drifting off to sleep with him around to sing them a lullaby! Each song is accompanied by beautiful piano tunes, and a few have a guitar too. My favourite tracks are Moon River and Edelweiss.

The gorgeous art work on the album cover, sleeves and booklet were designed by his wife, too and are just so gorgeous!

I’m delighted to be able to give away a copy of the CD to a lucky winner too, in the hopes that it helps another little person relax and head off to the land of nod!
