The Buggy Chronicles: Silver Cross Reflex

The-Buggy-Chronicles

A few weeks back I was sadly unable to be at the launch of the new Silver Cross Reflex, their newest addition to the range. I was sent through some images and details after the event and have just had a chance to look through and thought I’d share the info in case anyone is on the lookout for a new pushchair and as part of my new series ‘The Buggy Chronicles’.

Silver Cross Reflex full line up low res

Firstly, the array of colours that the Reflex comes in is impressive! I personally love the raspberry colour but would be a bit wary of getting such a girly colour as what if the next baby (whenever that may be!) is a boy? But onto more important features…

  • LED safety lights  and reflectors for better visibility on dark mornings and evenings,
  • Hood with spf 50 uv protection and a zip out ventilated extension for full shade coverage
  • converts to rear facing pram with newborn pack so can be used from birth to 25kg
  • compatible with simplicity car seat
  • weighs 8.5kg so is easy to carry
  • umbrella fold (with bumper in place)
  • footmuff, raincover, shopping basket and car seat adaptors included
  • adjustable calf rest and smooth no noise seat recline to flat.
  • puncture free tyres
  • adjustable height handles

What I like about this pushchair is that it looks so much more comfy that our current stroller (a 2nd hand mamas and papas pipi) and as comfy as our every day pushchair! The padded seat and longer leg rest mean extra comfort for baby, and I like that there are different positions for the shoulder straps (unlike our current stroller, where the straps dig into Athena’s cheeks when she falls asleep with her head to one side because they start so high up! I also like that the liner is removable to wash, no more scrubbing rusks off the seat with baby wipes! Obviously the plus point for me would be the compact fold which looks so much easier than our chunky every day buggy that needs to go in the car in 2 parts (and takes two hands to fold!) and needs the wheels taking off if there is anything else in the boot.

The Reflex goes on sale in March and will be available from Silver Cross online and also John Lewis. The Reflex has an rrp of £250.

I wasn’t asked or compensated to write about the Reflex, but after reading the press release wanted to share it anyway as I wish I had managed to get to the press day.

  1. We have a graco pushchair which has (and still doing!) Two boys. It’s worked as a travel system and now is still our only buggy/pushchair. The only thing I hate is the fact its boring black! Love the colour range of these!!

  2. The padded seat and long leg rest sound super. Aaron had all of his afternoon naps in his buggy so a comfy pushchair/stroller is very important to me x

  3. I love this. We went through SO many buggies with the twins, buying off ebay to try then reselling. Our toddler favourite was the Silver Cross Pop Duo, which also came as a single. If I was buying a single though I would always like the bumper bar. They just love sitting up holding it, it seems to make all the difference between a passive ride and an interactive one?

  4. It’s been a looooooong time since I had a baby buggy. Mine was a Graco system and it was huge! I soon swapped it for an umbrella fold type as soon as I could (6mths old)!

    I recently posted Finding Dory!

  5. I love the idea of a buggy with LED lights and additional reflectors. Being seen is so important. I ended up buying reflectors and sticking them on my buggy as I wanted to make sure it was visible so it is great that manufacturers are now taking this into consideration in the actual design

  6. I like the LED idea, it is so important to be visible, especially as I like in the country and we do not have many street lights

  7. I love that they have thought about reflectors. I think pushchairs being seen more in the dark is something that definitely needs to be worked on in most pushchairs x

  8. I have been looking at this online as i need a stroller now that we have a tiny boot. Just need to save some pennies now

  9. I went through so many buggies with my first two babies ( I baby wore my third).I could find one that had all the features I wanted.Having LED lights sounds a great safety feature I had never thought of before.

  10. Great colour range, especially the lime one. My boy is always wanting to walk everywhere now though so sadly no more pushchairs for me x
