Finally feeling festive

So now I’ve finished work for Christmas (I worked Saturday) I can relax and feel a bit more festive (although I am the manager ‘on call’ for my hotel and 5 others so fingers crossed for me that I don’t get a call, or worse have to go and help someone out with something drastic!) and my mum arrives for a few days tomorrow night (which can be stressful) but we are heading to my friend Yasmins for Christmas lunch, then back to mine for the evening once Sam finishes work (poor guy is working eve/day/night, and has been doing 21 hour shifts recently too!)

I’ll do our Christmas lunch on Boxing day, as Sam doesn’t start till 6pm then. So here are a few snaps of our decorations, no tree this year, just a non flowering peace lily with some lights! I have also answered a couple of festive tags below, feel free to do them too! Oh and as you can see i’ve still got loads of wedding cards up, I keep having to swap them around so everyone’s gets displayed for a bit!

Melissa from Pretty Little Obsessions posted this tag, so here are my answers:

1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
My favourite thing about Christmas is the food! Every year I do something a bit different, I cant remember the last time we had turkey! (I always do all the trimmings though!)
2. What is your favourite makeup look for the festive season?
Sparkly eyes!
3. Real or fake tree?
This year we’ve put up lights round the plant in the living room, but last year we had a small potted tree which was pretty, but this year I just wasn’t feeling it! Next year will be different perhaps!
4. Giving or receiving presents?
Giving! obviously I love getting presents but choosing what to get people and then wrapping, then watching them unwrap and see what they got cannot be beaten!
5. Do you open your presents in the morning or evening?
Generally we open them around midday, mainly because that’s when I get up on Christmas day! Now i’m older there certainly isn’t the urgency there used to be!
6. Handmade or bought Christmas cards?
Last year I made, this year I bought. From Asda, and the cards don’t fit in the envelopes properly. what a fail!
7. What is your favourite Christmas film?
Difficult one that, probably Home Alone
8. What is your favourite Christmas food?
Sausages wrapped in bacon.

and Sophie from a golden bow tagged me to answer these questions too!

♥What was the best present you received as a child? A bike! it was red and my next door neighbours kept it in their shed so I wouldn’t find it!

♥What’s on the top of your Christmas list this year? to not have conjunctivitis like I had all Christmas and NY last year!

♥Do you have and funny Christmas traditions? Not really, since I moved to Brighton my mum comes to stay for a few days but thats about it, food/presents are never at the same time, and often we have friends over for the meal if they would have no-one else to be with!

♥What are your 3 Christmas party beauty essentials? lip balm, blusher and sparkly eyeliner.

♥What’s your favourite Christmas movie?  as above, Home Alone!

♥Are you a giver or a receiver? [I clearly have a filthy mind… or have lived in Brighton for too long] giver!

♥Who will you be kissing under the mistletoe this year? My Husband of course!
