Athena & Arlo October 19

16th October 2019
Athena and Arlo in October 19

I think we’re getting into a routine at last  now we’re almost at half term! Arlo pretends he doesn’t like school because it is “So borin’ and we do nothing” but he is normally happy to just head into the classroom. He’s also excited to tell me the  letters he’s learnt and the numbers  they’re… Read More

Athena & Arlo – September 2019

15th September 2019

The Summer holidays are well and truly behind us and we’re a couple of weeks into a new school year – one where BOTH my kids are at school! Arlo started reception and now merrily heads into his classroom without looking back – I wasn’t convinced it would be this easy as on the first… Read More

Athena and Arlo – August 19

17th August 2019
Athena and Arlo august 19

The end of the Summer holidays are in sight – hurrah! One more week at home and then a week in Norfolk with family and we’re done! I mean, I would say that I’m not wishing them away but I sort of am… It’s just been a huge juggle this year due to various factors… Read More

Athena & Arlo July 2019

18th July 2019

This month my darling offspring have seemed closer than ever, and I think this summer is going to be a lot of them ganging up on me in order to try and get their own way. There have still been squabbles and tale-telling (should that be tell-taling? My brain is mush right now) but generally… Read More

Athena and Arlo – June 19

16th June 201916th June 2019

This post was meant to be up yesterday on the 15th but we had a powercut in the morning, and then went out for most of the day and by the time I got home I felt like an evening away from my laptop! This month not a lot has changed in the world of… Read More

Athena and Arlo May 2019

15th May 201910th February 2020

What a beautiful few weeks it’s been since my last ‘Siblings‘ post! I’ve taken quite a lot of pictures of these two, especially over our long weekend in Norfolk for Easter – which is where this photo in the rapeseed field was taken. I know some people HATE lens flares but I think they’re awesome,… Read More

Athena and Arlo – March and April 19

15th April 201910th February 2020

This is actually my ‘Athena and Arlo’ post for March and April, as I somehow completely forgot to publish last months photo! We’d just had a walk up near Devils Dyke and got very much blown about, so decided to head for lower ground and explore Bramber Castle, or what’s left of it! Now this… Read More

Athena and Arlo in February 2019

23rd February 201910th February 2020
Athena and Arlo February 19

So this post is more than a little late but I got really unwell on the day it was meant to go up (the 15th of each month) and of course I wasn’t organised enough to have it scheduled in advance!   Athena was actually about to grab a handful of Arlo’s hair in the… Read More

Athena + Arlo – January 2019

15th January 201910th February 2020
Athena and Arlo january 19

Another year of ‘Siblings’ photo diaries starts. I often find these a little tricky to write if I’m honest but will always continue to do them because looking back through the photos makes me smile and makes me happy! Here’s the kids in January 2016 (the photos are blurry but they are so small, and Arlo… Read More

Athena & Arlo in December 2018

15th December 2018
Athena and Arlo december 18

It’s the last ‘Siblings’ post of the year, and I’ve loved sharing little snippets about these two over the past year, and must make a little collage of all the months at some point! These photos were taken last weekend at Ightham Mote in Kent, when we were away for the weekend and I think… Read More

Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a lot recently, it's a new game but has quickly become a firm favourite, with us and the friends we've played it with.

Each game lasts around 10 minutes so it's great to play whilst dinners cooking, but you might want to carry on during dinner as it's a little addictive and you'll end up playing a few rounds 🎉

The aim of the game is to score ten points first by collecting sets of coloured cards. Easy right!? No, because other players can sabotage you and steal your cards for themselves (but, you might have the chance to steal them back!)

It's really easy to pick up and Arlo managed to beat us all on his first time playing 🤪 another plus is that's it's very portable and you don't need too much space to play, so perfect to take to friends houses, restaurants and on holiday!

It's from the team who bought us #ExplodingKittens and you can purchase this and other games from explodingkittens.com 💥

Determined to switch off this weekend, I've been flat out at work for the past two weeks & worked a lot of last weekend too. The problem (which is also a positive) with working freelance is that you can do it anytime but it doesn't necessarily mean you should 🤪
We're spending time with friends, doing some gardening and hopefully some cross stitch on the new garden sofa I spent hours putting together yesterday!

The one time I can (almost) guarantee no squabbling, no asking for snacks and potentially even to be left alone is at the beach.
I didn't bring swimming stuff, a change of clothes or sandals but that didn't stop them going for a swim!

I saw someone say the other day on here that they I saw someone say the other day on here that they found Gardening the most dull thing ever. A year ago I would've agreed, but had never had my own garden as an adult. I'd either lived in a pub (a gardener came and did our windowboxes) or flats with no outside space. When we moved in here there was no grass and a massive shed in the middle of the garden-literally in the middle, 3 feet away from the back wall too 🤪 there was also no flower bed. Sam and I have worked hard since we moved in, making this long planter, and pulling up patio slabs to sow some grass seed. I've got seedlings growing and am planning a mini rockery too. So no, gardening is not dull to me now. I really enjoy it! I'll share more of the garden when the grass has grown and I've planted some more flowers!
