Scrapbook Loves September 20

29th September 20207th October 2020

September sped past didn’t it? I think having a routine of school runs, homework and  some time to myself was actually a good thing as the days dragged a lot less.  However I’ll be pretty happy to see the back of 2020 so it won’t really bother me if the rest of the year trundles… Read More

Scrapbook Lockdown Loves

17th August 202025th August 2020
kids in the blossom trees

It’s been a while hasn’t it?  But I’m back  with my  (normally) monthly ‘favourite things‘ post after a lockdown hiatus. My last post was at the end of March, when everything got a bit strange. So, here is a BUMPER edition of  what I’ve loved, read, made, worn etc… only it isn’t that bumper because… Read More

Scrapbook Loves March 2020

11th April 202011th August 2020

Well March has been a bit of a disaster hasn’t it! The buzz-words of the month are definitely ‘Social Distancing’,   ‘Lockdown’, ‘home learning’ and ‘C0ronavirus’.  It’s definitely a month that nobody will forget. As usual I tried to escape reality by sleeping more and reading more, and have been quite successful in both, and less… Read More

Scrapbook Loves Feb 2020

3rd March 20207th April 2020
athena in waterstones

Well February  flew by didn’t it? Punctuated with a half term that  dragged a little towards the end  because I  arranged all our playdates in the first half of the week… whoops! I mean the torrential rain didn’t help either! I mean, we’re definitely not fair weather folk and do go out and about when… Read More

Scrapbook Loves January 2020

5th February 20203rd March 2020

All I’m seeing on social media is memes about  how January was 1387  days long, oh and also  Harry & Megan moving and brexit chat. Anyway for me  the month seems to have  flown by probably because we were on countdown to holiday, getting the kids and the house ready for Grandma who  was looking… Read More

Bosh, another month has flown past and we’re on the countdown to a new decade. How crazy!  Here’s   my roundup of bits and bobs from the last month… Made I’ve been doing some more baking, as  always happens when it’s dark and miserable  in the Winter!   So far just cupcakes and cookies but  I’d love… Read More

Ten months down, two to go! How crazy is that! It’ll be full speed  ahead to Christmas now that Halloween is out of the way! Here’s  a few of my favourites from October… Books I read these eight books in October,  which took me over my target of 60!  The Light Between Oceans was a… Read More

Three months till the end of the year, blimey! More importantly this month is Brexit month aka Halloween – fitting isn’t it! Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!

What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of c What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of celebrations please? When did Arlo get so good at putting Lego sets together on his own? Is this the first year I didn't get a book for Christmas? Should we actually leave the house at some point? Can I be bothered to stay up and ring in the new year? When will we be able to see our friends? How long will tier 4 last? Will there be a 5? How many cups of tea have I had today? When will the cat stop attacking our ankles? Is it okay to take the tree down today? But can I leave the lights up round the picture rail forever?

Answers on a postcard please. Hope you're all okay.
Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christm Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christmas. Tier 4 beckons on boxing day for us and so many others, which has rather scuppered our plans to meet up with friends for outside strolls in that bit between Christmas and New Year. So we're doing it today instead whilst its still allowed. Amazingly Sam has five days off work now, although he may well do some overtime at some point seeing as he's at home anyway 😒
I hope everyone has the best day they can despite it being the weirdest Christmas at the end of the strangest year. HO HO HO and all that! 🎄🤶🎅🎁
