When asked if I wanted to experiment by making some gin cocktails to taste test the Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin from Aldi I agreed, with a lot of encouragement from Sam who loves making cocktails! Oliver Cromwell Dry Gin has picked up top medals at several prestigious drinks award ceremonies this year, scooping the top title of ‘Master’ at the Spirits Business Gin Masters and receiving a Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge, which is impressive for £10.19! You find the Aldi store locator here.
After a few evenings experiments and a few failures I’ve narrowed it down to two favourites… read on for recipes!
To make two Raspberry Collins you need: 2 shots of Gin, 12ish raspberries, tonic water, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
Give the raspberries a gentle shake with the Gin in your cocktail shaker, add the lemon juice and divide into two glasses, then top up with tonic water, enjoy!
To make two Citrus Kicks you need: Bitter Lemon, lemon and lime slices, ice sticks & mint to garnish
Divide all your ingredients equally between two glasses and get guzzling!
Thank you to Aldi for sending me a bottle of gin and some cocktail making accessories to play around with!
Raspberry Collins looks amazing! I’m impressed that you needed some encouragement from Sam to try out the gin – I would have jumped at the chance ha! x
Aah, this looks like so much fun! I didn’t know Raspberry Collins would be so easy to make – I’m going to give it a go 🙂
