Blog Takeover: 3 things to do in Peterborough

I’ve got another guest blogger posting for me today, with three places to visit in her hometown of Peterborough! Over to Jaymee…

Nene Park (Ferry Meadows)

I am so lucky to have this amazing nature reserve literally on my door step. There is so much for children to do and explore. It is really well maintained and really just absolutely fabulous!! You can take really leisurely stroll taking in the views from the lakes or take part in many activities which are hosted by the park rangers. For children there are 3 parks to choose from all either recently updated or going to be updated plus den building in the woods. You can also pop into the visitor centre to pick up some free duck feed and then go to the platform (specifically for feeding the ducks) to get up and close to the ducks on water.

Key Theatre

I am a recent convert to the Key Theatre. I recently took my family to go and watch this year’s panto and I was really impressed. There is only 1 stage and the seating isn’t huge either. Really family friendly and an onsite café/restaurant too. The Key Theatre hosts several plays as well as a theatre group for children to attend so they can learn more about the work they do and perform.

Peterborough Cathedral

There is so much history here. Literally all over the city there is some historic landmark or significance. From Peterborough Cathedral which looks amazing! And also the burial place of Catherine of Aragon (The first wife of King Henry V111 who was divorced), to a large Roman settlement with re-enactments and roundhouses!
