Thanks to Soul II Soul for the title of this post (please tell me a few of you are old enough to remember the song? admittedly I don’t remember it being released as I was 5 then but hey…)
So today I went back to work after two weeks off, and Athena was back at nursery too which was a bit of a shock to everyones system! My trains were delayed on the way in and it was drizzly which made me even more gloomy feeling to be going back! On top of that I had to spend the day training people so my already croaky voice just got worse and worse! I also didn’t manage to sneakily email myself a blog post home in my break as I didn’t get one!
I got my laptop out of its bag a couple of hours ago after a week of hibernation, but I still don’t have enough oomph to go through my email inbox or write a more thrilling post than this! I will find some oomph and get back to it soon, but for now I am writing a list of posts to write up and watching ‘Esio Trot’ on catch up as I missed it at Christmas! I did say a few posts back that I would stop feeling guilty when I didn’t post all the time, but it’s hard to change old habits!
Please tell me I’m not the only one who finds it incredibly hard to get back into things after a week away? Topped with the fact the week preceding the week away was Christmas which was also fairly non bloggy! Anyway, off for a lazy soak in the bath to try and finish my book! I might even take a chunk of cake with me…
I hope everyones first week of January hasn’t been too horrific and setting your alarms for the first time in days wasn’t too traumatic!
Firstly, I can’t believe that song is so old! Secondly, going back two work after two weeks off was bitter-sweet for me, I quite enjoyed having something to do, but could have equally stayed at home! I know what you mean about not having the oomph to blog – I managed hardly any posts while I was off, although I had planned to write and schedule some to tie me over for a few weeks!! Hope the rest of the week is better for you!
Hope you get your blogging groove back soon – I’ve been missing my other half this week now he is back at work! But I’m glad all our groups and classes are back on for the toddler again, save me getting cabin fever in the house!
I did just sing your blog post title to myself!
Hope you manage to get back into the swing of things soon – I am back to work on Monday and have no idea how I’m going to cope after four weeks off! x
To be honest I can’t remember the last time I switched off from blogging completely, I have only ever gone an evening really. Not even two consecutive evenings or even a whole 24 hours. How sad does that make me!? x
A book, bath and cake sounds like the perfect way to recover after your first day back. While I love your posts and always like finding a new one in my feed I don’t think you should feel guilty about not blogging much recently. January is for hibernating, eating carbs, and snuggling under blankets 🙂 xxx
