Interiors: Cream & grey bedroom inspiration

I’ve written about a lot of my plans for our new home, annoyingly it looks like we won’t be in till after christmas now as the vendor has changed solicitors half way through the process (who DOES that!?) and is also arguing with someone over the cost of extending the leasehold… but i’m still throwing ideas about for how we want to furnish and decorate the new place, and often Sam and I can be found browsing pinterest and fancy home interior magazines for ideas! The bedroom is where we’ve got a bot of a conundrum though. We can use the biggest room as a bedroom or as a living room, and because we spend a relatively small amount of time in the bedroom I think we’ve decided to take one of the smaller two bedrooms. However fitting all our furniture in might be a bit of a squeeze! Once Arlo is sleeping through he will share with Athena though which will mean we don’t need his cot there.

I plan to have a big wardrobe clear out before we move too, to see if I can whittle down my clothes to more of a capsule wardrobe that will take up less space. I’ve also recently cleared out the vast majority of my makeup collection and given it away on a local giving site to a girl who does lots of dancing, she’ll probably use it all up way before I ever could! So instead of a dressing table I can get away with two drawers in a tall unit now, so really we just need a bedside table each, a nice comfortable bed, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. A nice comfy armchair would be a nice addition too, if we can squeeze it in!

I’ve been browsing Furniture Villages selection online, and seem to have earmarked items with a grey and cream theme, which actually Sam agrees with, makes a change! I love the idea of a wide wardrobe with sliding mirrored doors, saves having to put a full length mirror anywhere else but realistically I’ll be cleaning little handprints off it every other day! Still, easy access to clothes is always a bonus!

I love the geometric rugs too, I think they’re a really easy way to add a bit of interest to what could potentially be a bit of a bland room. The main focus of the room would of course be the bed, and having a really tall husband means we can’t have anything with a footboard, but this gorgeous luxe grey bed has an amazing quilted headboard, perfect for lazy mornings in bed with a book!
