Food: The coolest family-friendly restaurants

Any parent will know that eating out with the kids can often be a fairly stressful experience. Not only are some restaurants a bit stuffy about serving children, but even the kids themselves have a tendency to get very fussy about the foods on the menu.

Searching for a restaurant you and the whole family will love is really easy with Square Meal UK, you can filter by town, cuisine, party size and more to find something that everyone will be happy with!

Thankfully there’s a definite trend for restaurants to try and cater to the kids a little better, so here’s a look at those food outlets that are offer a great family friendly experience.

Brighton has plenty of restaurants like Cafe Rouge that include a handy children’s menu to help families with their eating options. It’s a concept that’s served relaxed places like the Lucky Beach Cafe well as they have a great kids menu with mini-burgers, and even famous Brighton pubs like The Black Lion have plenty of colouring books, high chairs, and a special menu for the little ones.

But it’s probably the awesome Bucket and Spade Cafe that is our favourite place to take the kids on a nice summer day. Not only does this have a very large menu for the children, but its inclusion of crayons and chalk board tables keeps those little hands busy whilst they wait for the food to arrive!

Further afield there’s the family-friendly Bull Inn near Henfield that has had the great idea of creating cute mini pizzas for the kids, whilst The Ladies Mile in Patcham is very welcoming to children and they even allow the little ones to eat for free in the summer months.

However, it’s always inevitable that we’ll head up to London every now and then to see which of the trendiest ideas in food have hit the nation’s capital.

There’s certainly no shortage of burgers and fries at the legendary Planet Hollywood in the West End that has plenty of cool movie memorabilia to occupy their minds whilst they eat. Plus trendy places like Hix in Soho and Mayfair even have kids-eat-free promotions so that they can enjoy some fancy gourmet food without it hitting your wallet too hard.

So from some failsafe food ideas for kids to activities that can keep them occupied, there are plenty of cool restaurants that are helping to make eating out a little easier!
