How To Help Stay Positive When Trying To Conceive

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been trying for months, or you decided last week that it’s time, once you’ve decided you want a baby, you want one right now. You may find it extremely difficult to maintain your patience when you don’t know how long you will have to wait until you conceive.

Get To Know Your Monthly Cycle

Despite how simple this may seem, many women are not aware of their menstrual cycle. In women, the fertile window occurs around the time of ovulation, when the chances of conceiving are the highest. Most pharmacies offer ovulation test kits that can be used to be precise about when ovulation occurs. A good method to help you meet your fertile window is to have sex every two to three days.

Watch Your Weight

Getting moving more is important – although you do not need to hit the gym every day, studies show that weight is one of the factors affecting fertility.  A BMI of 19 to 25 is considered the optimal weight for pregnancy, and maintaining that weight will help you become pregnant. An insufficient amount or too much body fat can disrupt your periods, affecting your ability to conceive.

Maintaining A Healthy Diet

You can increase your chances of being fertile by eating healthy foods. Keep a healthy balance by consuming plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and calcium- and folate-rich foods daily. Fish, which contains omega-3 fatty acids, is a great source of nutrients that are essential for fertility. Eat fish roughly twice or three times per week as it is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. Just be cautious with fish that are high in mercury.

Quit Smoking

Do you continue to puff? Give it up now. Women may experience lower fertility as a result of smoking, according to health advice. Indirect smoking is also considered. Researchers have also found that smoking leads to early menopause and damaged sperm in men.

Relax

Taking time out for yourself is important. In addition, having sex more frequently increases your chances of becoming pregnant. High-stress levels can reduce your libido. Couples often choose to relax with different approaches, such as acupuncture, medication, or yoga. It’s more important that you are doing something positive that helps you unwind, than the activity itself.

Stay Close To Each Other

When you feel down, don’t isolate your partner. Feeling sad or despondent can make it hard to communicate, but open up and discuss your feelings – he may be going through the same thing.

Meditation Can Be Helpful

Don’t dismiss the idea before you give it a shot. Sit outside and observe your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Instead of worrying about how things aren’t going your way, appreciate the breeze and the sunlight on your face.

Support When You Are Trying For A Baby

If you’re struggling to try to conceive or going through fertility treatment such as an ivf procedure, there is support out there. Many networks offer support where you can talk to others going through the same experience. It can help to make you feel less alone.

This short guide should help you to stay positive when trying for a baby. Do you have any other tips that could help? Please share some in the comments below.
