As you can imagine it was pretty nippy in the Alps last week! I was worried that we’d all be too cold to enjoy ourselves out and about but actually we had a lot of fun and nobody lost a finger to frost bite! Athena wore her Kozi Kidz Alaska Winter Parka every day and there were no complaints of being cold at all from her! Designed to cope with even the coldest swedish winters the Kozi Kidz outlook is that of the swedes ‘no such thing as bad weather just inappropriate clothing’ and one of their founders is Swedish so knows all about cold!
The Parka has a faux fur trim hood (that can be detached, both the hood and the trim) with a cosy fleece collar for snuggling down in, Athena napped in this numerous times when we were out and about! Reflectors give extra visibility for maximum safety, and it has zipped pockets so nothing important can get lost. There are inner cuffs, and adjustable velcro straps for a tight fit plus hem and waist toggles inside for a perfect fit. It’s not so thickly padded that it restricts movement but still keeps her really warm and cosy, the hood stays up in wind too which is rare!
There are ‘hand warmer’ pockets with a fleece lining on top of the regular pockets, and one arm even has a mini pocket that could be used for a ski lift pass if needed! Waterproof zips, storm flaps and taped seams mean absolutely no water is getting in, no matter how many snow angels are made! It’s long enough to cover her bum when she sits down on snow (which happened a lot!) too.
I’m struggling to find something that could be improved to be honest, it’s even machine washable so no need to spend money on a dry cleaner! I’m glad Athena chose the colour red (our of this, blue, berry or black) as I know that it will still be going strong when Arlo fits into it! I chose size 3-4 for Athena as she’s on the tall side for her age but there is plenty of growing room and this will still fit her next winter I’m sure, and the one after that Arlo will be in it more than likely! We alos got a lot of compliments on it too, which is always a good sign!
