This week has been a bit of a whirlwind, we’ve been flitting about here and there, between child minders, work Athena having her first couple of days at school ever by this afternoon we were really ready for a chill out session! Thankfully the lovely folks at Build-a-Bear had sent us a lovely hamper of goodies to enjoy! To help celebrate National Teddy Bear Day (which is officially the 9th) the kids were sent a limited edition Bear each, along with a gift card so we can head to our local branch to buy some accessories for the bears to give them a bit of personality! Inside the hamper was a very tasty looking box of teddy bear Biscuiteers biscuits (and boy am I cursing myself for going on a sugar free diet three days ago… the kids are sadly being given no help from me to eat them!) a really lovely dress up bear game, instructions on how to make some scrummy looking cakes, and invites for their friends so we can invite them to a Teddy Bears Picnic! I think that’s a lovely idea and once Athena has made a few new friends at school it’ll be a lovely way for her to get to know them outside school. This week though this pair had a little picnic at home, sheltering from the rain at the end of a lovely week!
Arlo has called his bear ‘Bear-Bear’ and Athena has changed her bears name a few times, but the latest name is ‘Sarlar’ by the sounds of it! I’ve had a quick look online at the little clothes they can choose from, there are dresses, PJs, costumes and funky slogan T shirts to choose from, they’re going to be their element when we go to the store to explore! I also spotted that you can have a Build-a-Bear party in store, I think Athena would be over the moon with one of those for her birthday! They’re super soft and cuddly with happy faces and the 2017 ‘National Teddy Bear Day’ emblem on their paw… Arlo even had a nap with his bear today after a particularly rigorous dancing session when the poor bear got flung about a bit! He did just give a little voice to ‘bear bear’ though which is the first time he’s ever done that with a toy, SO cute!
The Bears that we were sent to enjoy are the special limited edition, and are available today and tomorrow in store for only £5.50 (a great saving!) and online there is a different limited edition bear to choose from! This would be a great idea to stock up on early Christmas or birthday presents for kids, perhaps along with a gift card so the recipient can decide how to personalise their bear exactly how they prefer!
