Three Places to Visit in Hampshire – Blogger Takeover

I love to explore the UK and always welcome guest posts from fellow bloggers sharing their favourite places to visit locally – today it’s Emma from Emma Reed.net

I currently live in Basingstoke but was brought up in a small nearby town called Alton. Living in Hampshire is such a treat because you get the best of the countryside, the seaside, historic towns and cities and are easily connected to London.

Picking just three places we love was a tough choice but here goes…

Wellington Park

This is located just outside Reading and takes about 20 minutes to get to from my home. We have an annual pass for here because it is a great place to visit all year round. They offer playgrounds, dinosaur statues, a new splash park, a farm, a train, sandpits, bouncy pillow, small softplay and a beautiful walk around the lake. They hold different events throughout the year from Princess and Pirate weekends to Halloween fun, Shire horse rides, Christmas spectaculars and much more. We are so lucky to have this just up the road and because we have our season tickets it doesn’t matter if we only go for an hour on any day, we can just pop up, do the activities we want and make up for the rest on other days.

Southsea Sea Front

This is about an hour from home. With a sea life centre, parks, a pier, arcades, a funfair and museums there is plenty to see and do. We recently took Jake so he could experience his first traditional seaside arcades and funfair; he loved it! Don’t forget your 2p’s!

Beale Park

A wildlife park and gardens this offers fun for all the family. Situated just outside of Reading in the town of Theale. They home many species of animals from Meerkats to Lemurs, Pigs to birds, Monkeys and Otters plus much more. There is a large play area consisting of a Little Tikes section, a sandpit, slides and swings and a lovely outdoor pool which is open in the summer. One of the most breath-taking parts is the beautiful water garden walk. I can’t leave without taking a walk around.

Emma is a stay at home Mum who is blogging and writing books. Her first book ‘Your Teething Baby, from one parent to another’ is available on Amazon as paperback for £10.99 and kindle for £6.50. You can follow her on facebooktwitter & Instagram
