Merton Hotel Jersey, Channel Islands Review

4th June 201910th February 2020
Merton Hotel Jersey review

During our trip to Jersey, we stayed at the Merton Hotel [accommodation in exchange for this review], which took under ten minutes to drive to from the ferry port. It’s a large hotel with plenty of things on offer for guests. In fact it’s more like a resort than a hotel, including the aquadome located… Read More

Travel: Jersey, Channel Islands with Kids #TheIslandBreak

3rd June 201910th February 2020
#TheIslandBreak Jersey

Ad- Press trip. On Sunday we arrived home from a wonderful stay on the Island of Jersey. It really felt like we’d been in another country for a few days, despite being able to use our own car, not bother with changing currency and driving on the left side of the road. Jersey is one… Read More

5 Things to do on Lanzarote at any age

15th May 201930th May 2019
lanzarote beach

Whilst it might have a reputation as something of a ‘party island’ (and it certainly can live up to that reputation if you know where to look), Lanzarote is also an island that features a little bit of everything and could actually be the perfect family holiday. This is particularly true if you decide to… Read More

Review: Solent Hotel and Spa with Caudalie

13th May 201910th February 2020

This week I had the privilege and joy of extending my Bank Holiday weekend by an extra day, because on Tuesday I was invited to the Solent Hotel for a spa day. There is nothing I enjoy more than a day being pampered, lounging around in a fluffy gown and chatting with friends. If you… Read More

20th April 201910th February 2020

Drusillas Park is somewhere we really love to visit as a family, as it has enough to keep us busy for the whole day, with so much to see and do. From rare animals to soft play with so much between it really is a great place for a day out! We were invited to… Read More

Brickosaurs at Marwell Zoo

16th April 201910th February 2020

A week ago the kids and I spent the day at Marwell Zoo searching for their new arrivals, all the Brickosaur dinosaurs! These amazing creatures are hand-made by a team of professional builders- out of LEGO! They really are very impressive and as both kids love dinosaurs and Arlo has just got into Lego in… Read More

Wanderlust: Top Walking Holidays in the Pyrenees

5th April 201910th February 2020

Forming a natural border between France and Spain, with tiny Andorra enfolded within their peaks, the Pyrenees stretch some 430km from their Catalan-speaking, Mediterranean east coast to their Basque-speaking, Atlantic west in the Bay of Biscay. In between, their high meadows, craggy peaks and deep gorges provide the setting for superlative walking. With frequent, budget… Read More

Days Out: Go Boat London

4th April 201910th February 2020
thames riverboats

London is a city that I think you can never tire of, there is always so much to see and do and it is ever changing – though thankfully there is still a lot of history to explore and learn about. Obviously the Thames is London’s most famous waterway, and I’ve done trips along there… Read More

Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall – Wales

15th March 201910th February 2020

In April last year we spent a week in Wales with friends and I don’t think I ever really shared anything about it because I wanted a proper holiday from work and blogging. Also Arlo was pretty sick for the whole week as it turned out he’d caught a parasitic bug from a petting farm… Read More

Standen House National Trust [Days Out]

12th March 201910th February 2020
Standen House National Trust Sussex

A couple of weekends ago when we were having that weirdly hot spell that just didn’t feel right for a February in England we headed out to Standen House, one of the National Trust properties in West Sussex to make use of our National Trust family membership. Standen House is a few minutes drive from… Read More

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎽 Two little runners 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎽 Two little runners after their first race, the #Arunners junior mile along the beach ⛱️ Arlo shot round way ahead of Athena and I so I got a blurry action shot of him but not much else!

Sam did the longer 5 mile run along the sand whilst the tide was out but we walked home via the shop for congratulatory ice creams instead of waiting for him as it was well past bedtime by that point!

Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a lot recently, it's a new game but has quickly become a firm favourite, with us and the friends we've played it with.

Each game lasts around 10 minutes so it's great to play whilst dinners cooking, but you might want to carry on during dinner as it's a little addictive and you'll end up playing a few rounds 🎉

The aim of the game is to score ten points first by collecting sets of coloured cards. Easy right!? No, because other players can sabotage you and steal your cards for themselves (but, you might have the chance to steal them back!)

It's really easy to pick up and Arlo managed to beat us all on his first time playing 🤪 another plus is that's it's very portable and you don't need too much space to play, so perfect to take to friends houses, restaurants and on holiday!

It's from the team who bought us #ExplodingKittens and you can purchase this and other games from explodingkittens.com 💥

Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️ Det Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️
Determined to switch off this weekend, I've been flat out at work for the past two weeks & worked a lot of last weekend too. The problem (which is also a positive) with working freelance is that you can do it anytime but it doesn't necessarily mean you should 🤪
We're spending time with friends, doing some gardening and hopefully some cross stitch on the new garden sofa I spent hours putting together yesterday!

The one time I can (almost) guarantee no squabbling, no asking for snacks and potentially even to be left alone is at the beach.
I didn't bring swimming stuff, a change of clothes or sandals but that didn't stop them going for a swim!
