Essential Kitchen Tools and Appliances You Need

Whether you are moving into a new place, renovating a kitchen, or moving into your first place with your kitchen, you need several things to have an operational kitchen like a functional adult. Unfortunately, the kitchen is one of the most challenging and overwhelming rooms to stick to as there are hundreds of different kitchen gadgets that could be considered essential! To make this daunting task a bit easier for you, we have compiled a list of essential things you need in the kitchen.

Utensils

While plastic utensils are a temporary solution when you do not have the necessary utensils, this can’t last forever. You need to invest in a good set of forks, spoons, knives, and more, don’t forget you may also need a separate set for when guests come to stay. A knife set in a block will also make a lot of cooking easier! Unless you have the nimble fingers of a Michelin-star chef and can pinch up a perfect ¼ teaspoon with ease, you’ll need a set of measuring spoons. Find one with easy-to-read measurement labels and a ring that you can clip open for individual use and easier cleaning. Finally, don’t forget a can opener, measuring jug, and tongs.

Cookware

Skillets, pots, pans, and trays are the most used items in the kitchen. Use a ceramic coated cookware set rot at least get a set that has a frying pan, saucepan, saute pan, and a dutch oven, an aesthetically pleasing addition to any kitchen and also very useful. A stockpot is a great idea to invest in if you like your soups, stews, potatoes, and spaghetti sauce. If you can cook it in the oven, you will probably want to cook it on a sheet tray. A high-quality sheet tray is endlessly helpful if you plan to make anything from cookies to pizzas to finger foods to bacon.

Appliances

Appliances can be pricey, but they will make all the difference when preparing meals; you may also worry about replacing them if something happens, but that’s an easy fix. Call the appliance company from, search for your model number, and you should be fine. If you’re only going to invest in one countertop appliance for your kitchen, purchase the best slow cooker. They’re so insanely versatile, and they make cooking hearty, fulfilling meals so simple it’s lazy. For anyone who’s into bread, bagels, English muffins, or Pop-Tarts, a kitchen feels all-too-bare without a toaster. A microwave is a must buy and if you are a coffee connoisseur, treat yourself to a coffee machine.

Cups

You can’t drink everything out of your never-ending collection of mugs. Grab some nice glasses, keep enough for at least four people, maybe invest in some wine glasses if that is more your speed. Again, perhaps even have a hidden away set for guests.

There are so many other things you will need in your kitchen, plates, serving platters, and storage containers, for example. However, the more you are in your kitchen, the more you realize what you need and how it can suit your lifestyle because everyone is different.
