Last week I shared a ‘winter warmer’ wishlist for myself, so I thought I better get started working on the kids winter wardrobe too! At the moment the kids are knocking about in trainers still but I know it’s only a matter of weeks till it’ll cold enough for boots, thick coats and woolly hats! I found both these pom pom hats (and the matching scarf) at Tesco, and it’d be rude not to get an ‘A’ initial hat for Arlo, right? In fact the wellies and boots are both from Tesco too! Athena adores anything sparkly, and I think the chelsea boots would look great with some knees high socks, and the rainbow wellies would look good with anything!
Arlo is pretty obsessed with wellies all year round, but his are getting to be on the small side so a pair of crocodile wellies with easy-pull-on handles would suit him perfectly! I also loved the little high top trainers, also easy to pull on, with elastic laces and a velcro strap, plus the leatherette uppers would be a bit more water resistant than canvas.
Both coats I’ve chosen are waterproof macs, because let’s face it, this is England and we can’t avoid going out in the rain a lot of the time on school runs and so on! Arlo’s is from CP Company Kids and I love the longer length, which is hard to find for boys coats, but boy’s don’t want wet or cold bums either, the same as girls! Athena’s somewhat brighter mac is from Kozi-Kids (though I found it stocked on Tesco) and we’ve had coats from them in the past and they’re so durable, Arlo will have Athena’s old one by next winter as it will fit then!
Obviously winter isn’t winter without a cosy knit or two, so I’ve picked a few of my favourite jumpers, a couple of festive ones, though Arlo actually has about three Christmas Jumpers lined up already due to my over-zealous sale shopping in January! But I thought the dino jumper was cute and would go well with the wellies! The deer jumper is a sweet addition to Athena’s wardrobe, and the textured pink jumper would work really well with a skirt, tights and those wellies! All the jumpers are from House of Fraser.
Finally in our super cold house slippers are a must, and you can’t beat some cosy socks, these are from Yakwax and come in a variety of styles. My two love their dressing gowns (well, Arlo loves his sisters old dressing gown, I think the pink and purple spots are very fetching on him!) and cosy socks to keep their tootsie warm are the perfect snuggle-at-home addition!
Anything you’ve got your eye on for your kids this winter?
