Review: Keen Shoes for Kids & Adults

3rd September 20203rd September 2020

Finding sandals that look good,  go with everything and are comfortable enough to wear all day is like looking for a needle in a haystack – but I think I’ve  found  that shoe-shaped needle!  These  are the ‘Elle Backstrap’ Keen sandals – and not only do they match my requirements but they  are consciously created … Read More

Style: Scaramanga Backpack

11th February 202011th February 2020

I’ve been a fan of backpacks since  my  youngest was born – it suddenly seemed so much easier to pop all the stuff I needed for two kids under 2 years old in a backpack than a proper changing bag that was always swinging off my shoulders and bashing into things, or making me walk… Read More

Style: Gant Chelsea Boots

Gant Chelsea Boots

Finding a pair of comfy, durable, stylish winter boots is always a task and a half. Will they rub? How high is the heel? Will they cope with wet weather? The list goes on, and considering I do a fair amount of walking so although how a pair of boots looks is important to me… Read More

Style: Working out with Souluxe

Souluxe Gym wear Matalan-1

So I’ve been pretty quite about my exercise and healthy eating journey that I so enthusiastically started early in the year… because I gave up. But then a new gym opened up near me and had a really low monthly price for people who joined up early and I did in the summer and then… Read More

Style: Kids Winter Warmers

2nd October 201710th February 2020

Last week I shared a ‘winter warmer’ wishlist for myself, so I thought I better get started working on the kids winter wardrobe too! At the moment the kids are knocking about in trainers still but I know it’s only a matter of weeks till it’ll cold enough for boots, thick coats and woolly hats!… Read More

Style: My Mum Uniform

25th September 201710th February 2020

I’ve spent a while honing my mum uniform, and though I want to edge towards more dresses at some point, but at the moment it’s a skinny jeans with a lot of stretch, a jumper and a pair of flip flops. However the temperatures are rapidly decreasing and especially at 8.15 in the morning it… Read More

Style: RayBan Wayfarers from Ottica

28th August 201710th February 2020

I go though sunglasses like there’s no tomorrow. They either get lost, scratched or pulled apart by the kids. Till now it’s not mattered that much as they’ve all been cheap pairs but now I am taking much better care of a pair of new Wayfarers from RayBan. I was planning to get a new… Read More

We would've done another walk today (Sam had a day off today too) but our boiler is kaput and we didn't want to come home to a cold house so we stayed in and shivered on the sofa instead!
Also before you come at me for getting in the car to drive to exercise: we live in a flat with no garden on a busy road- we could walk to the beach but I can guarantee we would have seen LOTS of people on pavements on the way and then hundreds (literally - the prom is so busy!) at the beach. Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!

What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of c What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of celebrations please? When did Arlo get so good at putting Lego sets together on his own? Is this the first year I didn't get a book for Christmas? Should we actually leave the house at some point? Can I be bothered to stay up and ring in the new year? When will we be able to see our friends? How long will tier 4 last? Will there be a 5? How many cups of tea have I had today? When will the cat stop attacking our ankles? Is it okay to take the tree down today? But can I leave the lights up round the picture rail forever?

Answers on a postcard please. Hope you're all okay.
