I was recently tagged by Gemma to do this tag, and actually had a spare 5 minutes to fill it out finally! I will say though that I am going to do everything in my power to be a mama and not a ‘Mummy’. I called my mum ‘Mummy’ for years and years (never even Mum) but I just have that little sketch from Family Guy in my head and think mama would be way less annoying than mummy if said over and over (and so far so good, Athena is a ‘mamamamammaaaaaa’ baby!) Now I am going to await the arrival of my two friends who are visiting today and bake some cookies for them!…
1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
Currently, I am a stay at home mama as i’m still officially on maternity leave.
2. Would you have it any other way?
I want to work from home part time, to minimise childcare costs (nanna will help and we will hopefully do a childcare swap too with a friend) and to spend as much time as I can with Athena.Obviously working as a hotel manager from home, part time, isn’t going to happen so that means a career change!
3. Do you co-sleep?
Yes sometimes. Generally she’ll sleep in her own cot for most of the night in her room but if she’s particularly restless I’ll have her in with us and normally for morning snuggles too. We did a lot when she was younger though and I don’t think there is anything wrong with it.
4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
Baby sleeping bags.
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
At least one more!
6. Date night? How many nights per month?
None! Sam works 5 or 6 nights a week so we tend to stay in when he finally does get a night in!
7. Your child’s favourite show?
Kiddo doesn’t watch the tv yet. She doesn’t really show much interest in it either.
8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
A black out blind that you can put up anywhere… not sure why I was so adamant we had to have one!
9. Your child’s favourite food?
The kid eats anything. Literally. She does love bananas and rusks quite a lot tho!
10. How many cars does your family have?
One. We live really close to a train station so this works fine for us!
11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
I was on a wedding dress diet when I got pregnant… but when I got weighed at my pre op two days before my due date I was 4 stone heavier than pre pregnancy. I was however sporting tree trunk legs and feet and my arms and hands were swollen too. So that water retention paired with my giant bump would make anyone weigh extra… haha
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
A south American adventure. With rainforests.
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
To be honest I’d hate to deprive her of any new view of the world, but I have just booked a holiday to Morocco without her!
14. How has your life changed since your baby has been in your life?
In so many ways. For a start I get less sleep… I also see the world in a different way, I get excited when I see her looking at something for the first time. Sometimes I daydream about the ‘time before’ but i’m sure we all do! That doesn’t mean I’d change it!
15. Finish the sentence: ‘It makes my heart melt to see … ‘
Athena crawl across the room to me for a cuddle (or to paw at my boob for a feed)
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Anywhere that takes my fancy! I think supermarkets are brilliant for basics for babies and sainsburys have some really nice bits. Gap is good because the sizes tend to be generous (as are m&s and next)
17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Makeup is Urban Decay, Benefit & Maybelline. Skincare is a huge mixture… nivea, clarins and bodyshop are some of the various potions I smear on my face.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers… do huggies still make nappies? We also use the tots bums or whatever they’re called from kiddicare/morrisons but buy whatever is cheap. They all behave the same to me!
19. Have you always wanted kids?
No. I had told my mum that she’d not be a gran (I’m an only child) however it was not long after Sam and I got together that I changed my mind and here we are! I also didn’t want to get married…!
20. Best part about being a mum?
The fact that I made this little person who is developing and changing and unique.

I loved reading this! I love your last answer too. My husband and I often just stare at Sophie and say “we made her”! x
