What do Kids Dream about?

11th November 201610th February 2020

I don’t often remember my dreams any more. I’m not sure if it is because I rarely get a chance to get into a proper deep sleep (cheers, kid) or if now I’m older I have too much to think about. My brain starts thinking about the day ahead as soon as I wake up… Read More

Workplace Health & Safety

29th October 201610th February 2020

Apart from being able to work in my PJs with my hair in a mum-bun and a makeup free face, the other wonderful thing about working from home is that I am in charge of health and safety! I can balance my tea precariously on the arm of the sofa if I wish with nobody… Read More

Review: Messy Goes to Okido toy

25th October 201610th February 2020
Messy goes to Okido

MessyΒ Goes to Okido is a programme On CBeebies that is easily in the top 5 for my two little square-eyed people! It’s a show that tackles questions that toddlers could ask and that parents might find tricky to answer! A couple of our favourite episodes are: Messy-Morphosis – which helps to explain about caterpillars turning… Read More

Freelancing: Best & Worst

20th October 201610th February 2020

The Best and Worst Things About Being Self-Employed As with many things, it’s swings and roundabouts. Being employed means office pals, rounds of tea and regular pay checks. Self-employment means no office politics, eating whatever you want for lunch (hello, Nutella sandwiches) and doing everything yourself. There are perks (and pitfalls) to both, but here’s… Read More

Review: The Vax Slimvac

18th October 20161st July 2022

I definitely live by the motto ‘boring women have immaculate homes’ as my home is far from tidy, but saying that I do like it to be clean! At the end of the day once I’ve got the children in bed and we’re settling down for an evening in front of the TV (okay so… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday – i360, colds and windows

9th October 201610th February 2020

I’ve been a bit slack with the old Stuff on a Sunday posts but I am determined to do them weekly from now until the end of the year, although I can’t promise they’ll be thrilling as I plan to do some mega hibernating this winter! So here’s what we’ve been up to over the… Read More

Me & Mine – September 2016

30th September 201610th February 2020

This month has been really good for our family, we had a whole week away all together, sleeping in the same hotel room and spending all our time together. It was a really nice holiday (you can have a look at our vlog here) and both Sam and I saw a noticeable difference in the… Read More

From Potty to Toilet

19th September 201610th February 2020
my carry potty review

This is a collaborative post inΒ associationΒ with Andrex, all words and opinions are my own. So you’ve got a recently potty trained child, well done!Β But sadly that’s not it done and dusted.Β They know when they need to sit on the potty and if you’re lucky they might even wipe afterwards! That’s all well and good but… Read More

Everything’s fine… or is it?

7th September 201627th December 2016

How often do you answer the question: ‘Hows it all going?’ or similar with ‘oh, fine thanks’. A fair bit if you’re anything like me. In fact what I really want to say to people is ‘Not great actually, I’ve not slept for more than 3 hours straight since my youngest was born almost 18… Read More

Well, for a few days anyway as Sam has taken the kids to Norfolk for a few days (and is coming back again at the weekend, leaving them there with his mum for a week πŸ™Œ)

I am loving the silence that comes with just being alone in the house...no thundering feet up and down the hall, no random questions an hour after bedtime, no endless requests for food, no arguments over who said/did what. Just me and the cats (and a list of DIY jobs as long as my arm, and my actual job of course!)
