Here’s where you’ll find posts for what the kids did… playing, wearing, doing, and more!

What the children wore: Little Chickie

11th September 201510th February 2020

Little Chickie is a kids clothing website with lots of choice of brands, some firm favourites and some new names too.Β We were very kindly asked if we wanted to pick some outfits and experience ordering from the site. Firstly the Little Chickie website is definitely pretty, and although not essential definitely makes the browsing process… Read More

Waterbabies: Toys for water fun

19th August 201510th February 2020

During our term with Waterbabies we did a few activities that involved the use of toys. Using these toys and props helps to make things more exciting for the little students, and for the parents or carers who accompany them in the lessons! Many of the items used in the classes are available in… Read More

Fisher Price Smart Stages: Scooter and Counting Colours clock

18th August 201510th February 2020

Fisher Price Smart Stages is a clever range of toys designed to last for longer than average and suit different developmental stages, helping your child to learn colours, numbers, shapes and more. As you’d expect from Fisher Price the range is well made, able to withstand even the most boisterous toddler attack and will last… Read More

Bing’s House from Fisher Price

10th August 201510th February 2020
bings house fisher price

Athena only ever asks to watch three programs on TV. One of them is Bing, and it’s the least objectionable of the choices! I like it because each little episode has a nice moral to the story, and it deals with every issues that a toddler comes across; Sharing, potty training, losing things and… Read More

What the Toddler wore: Little Sunflowers

7th August 201510th February 2020

There are two items to showcase for this week’s ‘What the Toddler Wore’ and they’re both from Little SunflowersΒ an online children’s clothing website. First upΒ is a lovely Super Twirly Lily & Sid dress. Now I don’t normally choose pink things for Athena but this isn’t too OTT pink and she loved it when we were… Read More

Mirror Mirror… with Ambi Toys

22nd July 201510th February 2020

Arlo loves to look at himself and I meanΒ really loves it! A few weeks ago we were in a restaurant that had mirrored dividers behind the booths and he spent most of the meal looking over my shoulder and grinning at himself like a complete loon, much to the amusement of us and the family… Read More

Toddler Loves: Anamalz Wooden Toys

20th July 201510th February 2020
wooden animals

I love wooden toys, they last forever, they look nicer and bit’s don’t break off them when they’re flung about the place by an angry/happy toddler!Β We have four new additions to our wooden collection, they’re ‘Anamalz‘ from Wooden Toy Shack, a new brainchild from Brighton dads Sean, Alex & Rob. Not only is the website… Read More

Baby Loves: Teethers

17th July 20151st April 2020
teethers

Arlo has reached that ‘oh look i’ve managed to grab something in my tiny hand by accident, better stick it in my mouth pronto’ stage so although it doesn’t mean a tooth will appear any time soon it probably means he can start to make use of teethers soon! I think Athena got her first… Read More

Tidy Freaks!

13th July 201510th February 2020

I think our car attracts rubbish. Well actually I just have a husband who flings things into the footwells and leaves diet coke bottle lids all over the place. Last week Athena found a random one on a pavement and picked it up and shouted ‘Daddy!!!’ waving it around. So not only is the car… Read More

What the baby wore: Grey Crosses

3rd July 201510th February 2020

I’m starting to put Arlo in ‘proper’ clothes a lot more, rather than just fancier sleep suits. Saying that though the weather is so hot that at the moment he’s often in a short romper or just a vest! This outfit is from a week or so age before the heatwave arrived. A grey wrap… Read More

What are your kids reading? Athena's birthday lis What are your kids reading?

Athena's birthday list consists of a LOT of books this year. She keeps meticulous lists of which books of a series she's read\needs to read and will spend ages at the Library working scouring the shelves for new series to get into. She's currently loving the Storey Treehouse books and Dork Diaries.

The only issue with her sudden and very strong enthusiasm is that she'll often appear back down stairs at 9.30pm to tell us "I've finished my book" 🀣 if only she'd somehow manage to pass the bookworm bug onto Arlo via osmosis or something... πŸ“šπŸ”–πŸ“šπŸ”–

Beautiful blue skies from earlier in the week. Aru Beautiful blue skies from earlier in the week. Arundel castle is somewhere I've lived close to for my whole life, yet had only ever visited as a very small child. This week I visited the gardens with a friend and absolutely loved it, and will definitely be back to visit the castle itself. The glimpse I saw when we had tea a d scones in the restaurant was gorgeous!

I'm trying to make a reel by instasham keeps glitching and I can't add music, so maybe you'll see it and maybe you won't πŸ™„

After another really busy week I'm switching off for the weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday tomorrow and out for a stroll on Sunday πŸ™Œ

Sam did the longer 5 mile run along the sand whilst the tide was out but we walked home via the shop for congratulatory ice creams instead of waiting for him as it was well past bedtime by that point!

Ad|giftedπŸƒπŸ¦—πŸŒˆ We've been playing #Mantis a Ad|giftedπŸƒπŸ¦—πŸŒˆ We've been playing #Mantis a lot recently, it's a new game but has quickly become a firm favourite, with us and the friends we've played it with.

Each game lasts around 10 minutes so it's great to play whilst dinners cooking, but you might want to carry on during dinner as it's a little addictive and you'll end up playing a few rounds πŸŽ‰

The aim of the game is to score ten points first by collecting sets of coloured cards. Easy right!? No, because other players can sabotage you and steal your cards for themselves (but, you might have the chance to steal them back!)

It's really easy to pick up and Arlo managed to beat us all on his first time playing πŸ€ͺ another plus is that's it's very portable and you don't need too much space to play, so perfect to take to friends houses, restaurants and on holiday!

It's from the team who bought us #ExplodingKittens and you can purchase this and other games from explodingkittens.com πŸ’₯
