Days Out: Brighton Sealife Centre

24th August 201810th February 2020

Yesterday we had an underwater adventure at Brighton’s Sealife Centre. If you’ve never been before it’s easy to find: head to the pier and you can’t miss it! You can access is from the street or from the beach and there is plenty of parking on Madeira Drive (though it’s not free so publish transport… Read More

Oskar’s Amazing Adventure (Book & Theatre Show)

13th December 201710th February 2020
Oskars Amazing Adventure

This coming Saturday we will be going into Brighton to see a showing of Oskar’s Amazing Adventure at the Komedia in Brighton. We’ve been sent the book in advance so we could get used to the story and find out what Oscars adventure is all about. Both my kids absolutely love live performances but they also… Read More

Brighton: Independent Homeware Stores

9th October 201710th February 2020

As I’m away on holiday my friend and fellow Brighton-deweller Dakota has offered to write a post for me! Over to her… I’ll make no bones about it; I love living in Brighton. Not because of the beach, although it’s still my favourite spot for a BBQ in summer, and not because of the people,… Read More

Travel: Two days in Brighton with Jurys Inn

23rd August 201710th February 2020

Brighton is amazing, I love it as a city so much; it’s vibrant, unique, there is so much to do and I’ll never get bored of it. It’s just a shame that having kids meant we were priced out of the market when it came to buying in the city! I lived right in the… Read More

Hippo on the Moon at Brighton Theatre Royal

6th July 201710th February 2020

On Tuesday the kids and I headed to the Theatre Royal in New Road, Brighton. We’d been invited to see the stage adaptation of The First Hippo on the Moon, the book by David Walliams. If you’ve read the book you’ll know it doesn’t take long to read, so I was wondering how it would… Read More

Restaurants: The Sportsman Brighton

12th June 201710th February 2020

Last week we were invited for a meal at The Sportsman in Withdean, North Brighton as they’ve recently had a refurb and rebrand – they’re now a Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery restaurant. The Sportsman is at Withdean Stadium and has a large dining room, a spacious bar area and outside tables, though sadly it was… Read More

Restaurants: Prezzo Brighton Marina #LaFamigliana

9th June 201710th February 2020
prezzo la famigliana

It’s no secret that I love to eat, and though both kids love to eat they don’t always love to eat the right things! Thankfully pasta is one of the things they do really enjoy, so a big bowl of pasta to dig into is right up their street. Prezzo have introduced family sharing dishes… Read More

Brighton: Isaac At [Restaurant Review]

20th May 201710th February 2020
Isaac At Brighton restaurant review

‘Isaac At’ has been on our radar for a while, and on Thursday we spent one of the most enjoyable evenings in a long time, and I wish we’d visited sooner. Tucked away at the bottom of Gloucester Street it’s easily accessible from the station or on foot. Originally a pop up (hence the ‘at’… Read More

Brighton: 5 Favourite Restaurants

22nd February 201710th February 2020

When it comes to eating out, we like to do it right.  This is mostly because we hardly ever get any time alone, but also because life is short, and you’ve got to savour all the flavours.  We’re lucky to have Brighton on our doorstep; a city with hundreds of interesting and delicious options for… Read More

Brighton: Afternoon Tea at The Jetty

30th January 201710th February 2020

The Jetty is a new restaurant on Brighton’s seafront, in the Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa. It’s not been open for long so hasn’t seen a sunny Summer, but I know it will be the perfect place for a post seaside stroll drink or dinner. Spacious and bright with carefully chosen decor it’s a far… Read More

Gradually adding plants to every corner of the hou Gradually adding plants to every corner of the house. I never really buy flowers but I do love it when someone gives me a bunch, these tulips were a week old but going strong still 🌷🌼💐 of course it took me till a few days after they started dropping petals to actually get rid of them... But nobody is perfect, least of all me!

This is the first time Claude has stayed sat on anyone's lap for months. He's really not a very snuggly cat and despite Arlo being the fastest\loudest\most disinterested member of the household in cats he was the chosen one 🙄

🎉NINE YEARS OLD💞 Athena turned 9 yesterday, 🎉NINE YEARS OLD💞
Athena turned 9 yesterday, which was a pretty good day to have a birthday. Preceded by a week off for half term, a four day celebratory weekend, a whole day celebrating with your best friend who turns 10 on the same day and then being at school for everyone to sing happy birthday! After school we went to the park where Athena finally got over her fear of climbing the really tall climbing frame thing (then did it loads just to make sure she still could) 🙌
Swipe for her 1st birthday too, just because 😍
