Review: New Dragon Ball Toys

22nd November 202022nd November 2020

Arlo has been putting both his ninja moves and some new toys to the test this week when we had a delivery of toys from the new Dragon Ball range, which Bandai has released in the UK for the first time. For the uninitiated Dragon Ball is a hugely popular Anime/Manga series featuring Son Goku… Read More

Osmo Detective Agency Review

14th November 202014th November 2020

One of the things I feel is really important for our children  to understand more about  is  other people and parts of the world.  Our world is so diverse and  finding out more about it is something I’ve always loved doing, though when I was a child this was learning via encyclopedias and tv  documentaries… Read More

Present Pets – Toy Review

30th September 202030th September 2020

My  children love to watch ‘unboxing’ videos,   so a toy  that unboxes itself was definitely something I thought they’d really love. Present Pets unbox themselves  from inside the box, with noises and movement and little paw print shaped holes gradually appearing in the box until it opens up to reveal the mystery  pet!   There are… Read More

Osmo Genius & Little Genius Review – perfect for kids at home!

28th March 20204th April 2020
Playing with Osmo

Just when you thought you knew all about the ways to use tech to keep your kids entertained (including asking Alexa to make fart noises) you find something that blows everything else out of the water. It’s not only fun, but also educational enough to count as learning, which during these strange covid19 infused times is more important than… Read More

Toys: CAT Construction Vehicles

17th October 201910th February 2020

Post contains gifted items. Arlo loves trucks, diggers and tractors  as do so many little kids. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we used to have to stop and watch every digger or dumper truck we saw when we were out and about, no matter if it was raining or super cold!  This week,… Read More

Hatching Baby Toothless Dragon review

We were sent this toy for the purpose of this review. Contains affiliate links. If you’ve got kids there’s no way you haven’t seen or at least heard about How to Train your Dragon. My kids really love it and it’s one of the few films I suggest that they’ll both agree to first time.… Read More

Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!

What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of c What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of celebrations please? When did Arlo get so good at putting Lego sets together on his own? Is this the first year I didn't get a book for Christmas? Should we actually leave the house at some point? Can I be bothered to stay up and ring in the new year? When will we be able to see our friends? How long will tier 4 last? Will there be a 5? How many cups of tea have I had today? When will the cat stop attacking our ankles? Is it okay to take the tree down today? But can I leave the lights up round the picture rail forever?

Answers on a postcard please. Hope you're all okay.
Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christm Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christmas. Tier 4 beckons on boxing day for us and so many others, which has rather scuppered our plans to meet up with friends for outside strolls in that bit between Christmas and New Year. So we're doing it today instead whilst its still allowed. Amazingly Sam has five days off work now, although he may well do some overtime at some point seeing as he's at home anyway 😒
I hope everyone has the best day they can despite it being the weirdest Christmas at the end of the strangest year. HO HO HO and all that! 🎄🤶🎅🎁
