Brighton has always had a lot of mini festivals and events going on but this year is the first Starboard Festival for Children & Young People. Sixteen days of performances and fun, all based at the Brighton Open Air Theatre (or BOAT) which is just off Dyke Road.
There are so many different performances on to suit kids of every age, from birth upwards! The website is really easy to use to find shows that will suit the age of your kids.
Expect poetry, superheroes, pirates, Shakespeare, plays by torchlight and so much more!
Many of the shows are being performed by local children from schools and performing arts companies as well as visiting companies. There are performances spanning from Shakespeare to balloon animals and everything in between! The venue is perfect for kids as it’s not a stuffy theatre where they have to edge between all the seats and wont be able to see past the tall person in front of them!
