In which I share my engagement photos

069Lauren & Sam
All the pictures in this post are taken by the beautiful and beautifully talented Laura McCluskey.
I couldn’t even begin to choose my favourite pictures, as they are all special in their own way, but I have chosen a little selection to show here…
On the first Saturday of the year we spent the whole day strolling round Brighton. We browsed around a flea market, had a potter round the North Laine, saw a potential wedding band, popped into a couple of shops (sorry Sam) and then stopped for fish & chips! Over lunch Laura told us that ever since her engagement ring was placed on her finger,  she has NEVER EVER taken it off, and once the wedding ring was safely nuzzled next to it, that hasn’t come off either! I think that is literally the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard!

When we had stocked up on chips (and cider for us, which is a tradition for us in The Fish Bowl) it was starting to get a little chillier, but deterred we were not! We headed to the seafront for some pictures in front of the Kiss Wall, and on some steps, where Laura did some very athletic balancing on walls whilst protecting her HUMONGOUS camera. (literally I have never seen one so big!) Then we scurried along to the Pier for a little dance, a nosy in the rock shop and to ride a horse on the Carousel!

You can see all the pictures from the day on this amazing page! and you can read about how Sam proposed…
I am so thankful to Laura for creating so many amazing images of us, and for making the whole day feel like hanging out with a friend and she sent us the most beautiful hand made CD case with a disc of our images on for us, which is absolutely lovely! She runs her business as an eco friendly business, which I think is hugely important in this day and age!
Laura’s blog is here,  and the Just Married wedding website is here, and her Facebook page is here. I know she already has a busy year ahead, (including a Hong Kong Wedding (need an assistant? haha))  so if you or someone you know is getting married and hasn’t chosen a photographer yet, GO CHECK HER OUT!
I do plan on posting about my wedding preparations when things start to fall into place too, and if you’ve not already seen Frankie’s wedding posts on her blog, Love Audrey you should take a peek!

I’m off to check out the engagement story now, I’ve only read a bit but the idea of proposing by a lake with a rainbow in the sky is so romantic. I love the idea of having a 50’s and 60’s inspired wedding too! xxx

By the way – of course you can link to my post, that would be lovely 🙂
