I’ve written before about the fact that my children will have to share a room at some point in the not so distant future. It is a ‘double room’ but it’s by no means huge! We have thought about swapping rooms to give them more space but our bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower in it and Sam needs to use it when he gets up for work early, plus I’m not sure giving two small children unfettered access to a bathroom all night is a great idea!
So another idea I’ve got for their shared room is making the most of the vertical height with a mid sleeper, in the hopes that we can maximise the storage space underneath Athenas bed for clothes and toys to make space for Arlo’s cot and bits and bobs!
I’ve taken to the wonderful web and picked a few of my favourites! A couple above are from Cuckooland, who have some absolutely wonderful looking beds on their site, some with storage beneath and some that are almost too pretty to want to clutter up!
Another idea is to use a ‘tent’ over the bed for a bit of privacy for the children, and the mid-sleepers from Charlies Bedroom have a few styles, so that if Arlo ended up sleeping in the bed down the line when they (hopefully!) have a bedroom each we could just swap colours, for example!
I keep telling myself this is a long way off, but with Arlo at 2 months old already I need to start planning!
This is a collaborative post, all words and opinions my own.
P1 has a mid sleeper. Originally it was a great way to get extra floor play space. Our house is a 1 double bed and 1 single bedroom. P2 now has her toddler bed underneath it until they move around again and share the bigger room when P3 is old enough and sleeping a bit better.
That’s our plan too, one above the other! Glad it works for your oldest two, gives me faith! haha
We got LP a midsleeper and she absolutely loves it. Best investment ever! x
