Why I’m choosing a second Cesarean Section

26th January 201510th February 2020
second-cesarean-section

Athena was born via an elective C section (you can read her birth story here) because of ‘maternal anxiety’ according to my hospital notes. In brief, my husband was a big baby (11’7lbs) and was born via an eventual C section, I was a very small baby 5’11lbs but my mum had a difficult labour… Read More

26th January 201510th February 2020

Maternity style: Monochrome

23rd January 201510th February 2020

The vast majority of my maternity wardrobe seems to be in varying shades of black. This wasn’t the case last time but I sold anything that wasn’t breast-feeding friendly pretty much as we were moving house and I wanted to get rid of it! However I quite like black, it’s easy to accessorise and can… Read More

Preparing for baby 2: the to do list!

16th January 201510th February 2020

Much as it will be lovely to have ‘one of each’ (well, this is what people say when I find out we’re having a boy, anyway!) I am glad we found out the flavour of baby this time round to help us prepare a little better! I don’t dress Athena in all girly and pink… Read More

Pregnancy: 28 weeks in my second pregnancy

9th January 201510th February 2020

Β  I actually feel pregnant again now, after spending most of the 2nd trimester forgetting that I was! I seem to have got off pretty lightly with symptoms in the middle, but over the last few weeks they’re either arriving or getting worse! My last update was at 24 weeks, so hopefully a month is… Read More

Pregnancy: 24 weeks with baby 2

12th December 201410th February 2020

I feel like I’ve been ill for the last month non stop. First the abscess, then poor Athena was quite ill with a bug which I caught, then recovered from for a day and then re-caught (either from her or from Sam) Luckily baby seems to be fine and is wriggling around lots, and finally… Read More

Pregnancy: It’s a…?

18th November 201410th February 2020

We had our 20 week scan on Monday, everything was healthy including Athena’s lungs when she shouted a lot because she couldn’t get to my belly when the Sonographer was scanning it. Putting her head on my belly is her #1 favourite thing to do at the moment which is sweet when we are at… Read More

Well, for a few days anyway as Sam has taken the kids to Norfolk for a few days (and is coming back again at the weekend, leaving them there with his mum for a week πŸ™Œ)

I am loving the silence that comes with just being alone in the house...no thundering feet up and down the hall, no random questions an hour after bedtime, no endless requests for food, no arguments over who said/did what. Just me and the cats (and a list of DIY jobs as long as my arm, and my actual job of course!)
