I am always looking for fun activities to keep the boredom from edging in after school as I find if I can keep the kids busy and happy and spend some time with them for an hour or so when we get it that they will be happy to chill out after that and let… Read More

Wetmore Forest is an imaginary rainforest in the Pacific Northwest and it’s the home of   six monsters, each with their own personalities and looks! They’re now available from John Lewis,   and creatures include plush cuddly toys, story books and Funko Pop! characters. Although they’re called monsters they’re actually very loveable and quite cute too! Here’s… Read More

In a bid to reduce waste and give useful gifts this year will be the second year we’ve used  a ‘fill your own’ advent calendar. Last year the kids shared one  (though they got a surprise each) but this year they will have their own as we have been sent a wooden light up calendar… Read More

Print your Instagram snaps with SquaredOne

26th October 201923rd February 2020
squared.one photo prints

[Gifted items. Words and images my own] If you’re  anything like me then you will snap photos on your phone or maybe even a  digital camera and  then rarely do anything else with them. They’ll sit gathering dust in the virtual basement of your hard drive, or maybe in the cloud if you’re really organised.… Read More

Toys: CAT Construction Vehicles

17th October 201910th February 2020

Post contains gifted items. Arlo loves trucks, diggers and tractors  as do so many little kids. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we used to have to stop and watch every digger or dumper truck we saw when we were out and about, no matter if it was raining or super cold!  This week,… Read More

Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a lot recently, it's a new game but has quickly become a firm favourite, with us and the friends we've played it with.

Each game lasts around 10 minutes so it's great to play whilst dinners cooking, but you might want to carry on during dinner as it's a little addictive and you'll end up playing a few rounds 🎉

The aim of the game is to score ten points first by collecting sets of coloured cards. Easy right!? No, because other players can sabotage you and steal your cards for themselves (but, you might have the chance to steal them back!)

It's really easy to pick up and Arlo managed to beat us all on his first time playing 🤪 another plus is that's it's very portable and you don't need too much space to play, so perfect to take to friends houses, restaurants and on holiday!

It's from the team who bought us #ExplodingKittens and you can purchase this and other games from explodingkittens.com 💥

Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️ Det Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️
Determined to switch off this weekend, I've been flat out at work for the past two weeks & worked a lot of last weekend too. The problem (which is also a positive) with working freelance is that you can do it anytime but it doesn't necessarily mean you should 🤪
We're spending time with friends, doing some gardening and hopefully some cross stitch on the new garden sofa I spent hours putting together yesterday!

The one time I can (almost) guarantee no squabbling, no asking for snacks and potentially even to be left alone is at the beach.
I didn't bring swimming stuff, a change of clothes or sandals but that didn't stop them going for a swim!

I saw someone say the other day on here that they I saw someone say the other day on here that they found Gardening the most dull thing ever. A year ago I would've agreed, but had never had my own garden as an adult. I'd either lived in a pub (a gardener came and did our windowboxes) or flats with no outside space. When we moved in here there was no grass and a massive shed in the middle of the garden-literally in the middle, 3 feet away from the back wall too 🤪 there was also no flower bed. Sam and I have worked hard since we moved in, making this long planter, and pulling up patio slabs to sow some grass seed. I've got seedlings growing and am planning a mini rockery too. So no, gardening is not dull to me now. I really enjoy it! I'll share more of the garden when the grass has grown and I've planted some more flowers!
