Scrapbook Loves September 20

29th September 20207th October 2020

September sped past didn’t it? I think having a routine of school runs, homework and  some time to myself was actually a good thing as the days dragged a lot less.  However I’ll be pretty happy to see the back of 2020 so it won’t really bother me if the rest of the year trundles… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Circus & Injuries That Come in Threes

16th August 2020

It’s been a long time since I wrote a weekly ‘what we’ve been up to’ but this week has actually felt like the most ‘normal’  in  months. In fact the past four weeks have felt pretty normal – apart from  having to wear masks in shops and not hug people when we see them! Last… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – A catch up

16th February 202016th February 2020

I’ve not done a Scrapbook Sunday post for absolutely ages and feel a bit bad about it… for the uninitiated they are basically diary/chatty/catch up style posts where I waffle on a little about what we’ve been up to. When I was doing a lot more ‘commercial’ blogging up to about this time last year… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook- Bruises and muddy bums

20th October 201921st October 2019

The last two weeks have gone by so fast but I wanted to get them down ‘on paper’ as it were. Two notable events was Sam running the Great South Run today- a ten mile race around Portsmouth and the longest official run he has done yet! The kids and I tried to spot him… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Time flies & Island holidays

26th May 201929th May 2019
Portelet Bay, Jersey Channel Islands

We’re currently away on holiday, having a lovely time and getting a little bit sunburnt! The past couple of weeks flew by, and I didn’t manage to get a ‘scrapbook’ post up last weekend either. Time always seems to fly on the countdown to a holiday when you have a hundred and one things to… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Horrible History and London

5th May 201910th February 2020

Another week has shot by, and I think I wrote last weeks Sunday Scrapbook post on the train into London, so I’ll start there. London was pretty busy as it was the Marathon, so by mid afternoon there were a lot of tired looking people hobbling around wrapped up in shiny blankets looking mightily annoyed… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook: Theatre, Work & London

28th April 201910th February 2020

Well doesn’t having two bank holidays in a row make you discombobulated? Or is it just me… I get confused enough with normal bank holiday Monday weeks but add the Friday to that and the fact we were away and I can’t tell you which way is up let alone what day it’s been for… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Easter on the Boat

21st April 201910th February 2020

Happy Easter! We’ve had a really nice second half of the Easter holidays, the sunny weather has helped even if I wasn’t quite prepared for it! Last weekend we spent the day in London having ‘breakfast with the bunny’ at Hard Rock Café, then strolled through Hyde Park to the Science Museum where we spent… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Losing Arlo, Friends & Lazy Days

14th April 201910th February 2020

Our first half of the Easter break has been pretty nice, we’ve not been away but we have done some lovely things! We’ve also had a couple of lazy days which I think we all needed as much as the fun days out! On Sunday we tried to continue the stabliser-less bike riding that both… Read More

Sunday Scrapbook – Getting back into the swing of things!

7th April 201910th February 2020

I’ve not written about our week in a Sunday Scrapbook post for a little while, partly because our term-time weeks are fairly same-same-and-not-very-different and partly because I’ve been in a little bit of a slump for various reasons! But A few things happened this week, along with the weather getting nicer, brighter and the days… Read More

Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!

What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of c What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of celebrations please? When did Arlo get so good at putting Lego sets together on his own? Is this the first year I didn't get a book for Christmas? Should we actually leave the house at some point? Can I be bothered to stay up and ring in the new year? When will we be able to see our friends? How long will tier 4 last? Will there be a 5? How many cups of tea have I had today? When will the cat stop attacking our ankles? Is it okay to take the tree down today? But can I leave the lights up round the picture rail forever?

Answers on a postcard please. Hope you're all okay.
Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christm Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christmas. Tier 4 beckons on boxing day for us and so many others, which has rather scuppered our plans to meet up with friends for outside strolls in that bit between Christmas and New Year. So we're doing it today instead whilst its still allowed. Amazingly Sam has five days off work now, although he may well do some overtime at some point seeing as he's at home anyway 😒
I hope everyone has the best day they can despite it being the weirdest Christmas at the end of the strangest year. HO HO HO and all that! 🎄🤶🎅🎁
