Bluestone – Activities

26th May 201510th February 2020

You could quite happily spend your time at Bluestone exploring the outside areas, the nature walks and the lakes but there is a lot more to do experience on top of that! (Read the first part of our Bluestone experience here if you missed it!) The Adventure Centre: soft play, mini golf, bouncy castle, Lego… Read More

Travel: Bluestone Wales

23rd May 201510th February 2020

Last week we spent five lovely days at Bluestone in Wales. If you’re not familiar with them then think mountains, peacefulness, family friendly and lovely lodges and you’ll be half way there! I’ll freely admit that I was a little sceptical about what to expect from our ‘free range’ holiday at Bluestone. I’d read a… Read More

Bluestone: What I’m looking forward to

30th April 201510th February 2020

In just under two weeks time I will be heading off to Bluestone Resort in Wales, with Sam and the babies (I will stop referring to Athena as a baby when she hits 2… maybe!) and our lovely good friends and their daughter too. I cannot WAIT! A few people have likened maternity leae to… Read More

My tips for travelling abroad when you’re pregnant

5th February 201510th February 2020
travelling-abroad-pregnant

Over my two pregnancies I have flown abroad three times. I went to Egypt on our honeymoon at 13 weeks pregnant, then to the Czech Republic at 22 weeks pregnant, and during this pregnancy went to Morocco at 18 weeks. Prague at 22 weeks, so many layers that the bump’s not visible! Both Egypt and… Read More

Marrakesh – exploring the souks

18th November 201410th February 2020

An overwhelming sensory overload is how I would describe shopping in Marrakech.  Firstly there are the smells: spices, donkey dung, moped fumes, fish, incense… then the sounds: people calling out to you ‘shakira’ ‘hannah Montana’ to get your attention, attempting to shown you the way to the Jemaa el Fna (even if that’s not where… Read More

A weekend in Milton Keynes with Travelodge

13th November 201410th February 2020

When I asked Sam where in the UK he’d like to spend a weekend, courtesy of Travelodge I was a bit disappointed with his answer of ‘Milton Keynes please’. But seeing as I’d just left him to look after Athena for five days so I could swan off to Marrakesh with friends I couldn’t really… Read More

Holiday Memories of South Africa

19th August 201310th February 2020

You’ve probably seen a few people recently blogging about their holiday memories for the Holiday Postcards competition, and I had a think about the best holiday I’d ever taken, so without further ado… In January 2010 I spent three weeks travelling around South Africa. It was the most amazing holiday, and one day I want… Read More

Tintagel Castle & an outfit

5th May 201310th February 2020

This is what happens when I ask Sam to take pictures… bump shots. Top H&M (not maternity, just bigger sized) and Skirt H&M Maternity. Shoes Peacocks. Also check out the trout pout on the right picture, it’s the only reason I left it in! This is what I wore when we ventured to the… Read More

Lakes & Mountains

5th September 201210th February 2020

Accidently found ourselves at the foot of hardknott pass, a notorious road over the top of a couple of mountains… “Oh, I think we should turn back, this looks tricky” I said, “Nahhh, it cant be that bad!” said Sam. Alright for him, the non driver comfortably in the passenger seat!… Read More

In which I fly, kind of

29th July 201210th February 2020

At the beach Last Sunday after a Birthday BBQ for my friend Elisa at her mums house, I took a stroll with Emily down to the beach where I used to spend a lot of time when I was younger, as I was back in my old stomping ground (ha! west sussex…) Whenever I spend… Read More

Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!

What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of c What day is it? What's the date? Pass the tin of celebrations please? When did Arlo get so good at putting Lego sets together on his own? Is this the first year I didn't get a book for Christmas? Should we actually leave the house at some point? Can I be bothered to stay up and ring in the new year? When will we be able to see our friends? How long will tier 4 last? Will there be a 5? How many cups of tea have I had today? When will the cat stop attacking our ankles? Is it okay to take the tree down today? But can I leave the lights up round the picture rail forever?

Answers on a postcard please. Hope you're all okay.
Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christm Walking in a winter-muddy-land. So this is Christmas. Tier 4 beckons on boxing day for us and so many others, which has rather scuppered our plans to meet up with friends for outside strolls in that bit between Christmas and New Year. So we're doing it today instead whilst its still allowed. Amazingly Sam has five days off work now, although he may well do some overtime at some point seeing as he's at home anyway 😒
I hope everyone has the best day they can despite it being the weirdest Christmas at the end of the strangest year. HO HO HO and all that! 🎄🤶🎅🎁
