Bristol in Pictures

4th August 201210th February 2020

A bit of a filler post, I admit. These are a select few of my pictures from Bristol, where I spent a couple of days a good few weeks back! I’ve been too tired after work this week to even think about getting the pictures off… Read More

Bath in pictures

19th July 201210th February 2020

[taken with an olympus e520 or a sony point and shoot thingy] Bath was pretty, and a bit damp. I got back over two weeks ago, and am only just getting round to posting these. I haven’t yet unpacked my suitcase either. Sophie has since been and come back from bath… Read More

In which I visit Nymans Gardens

7th June 201210th February 2020

Sunday before last was a day of beauty; Sunny weather, a picnic in the lovely gardens of a (partly in ruins) stately home, then an afternoon of watching my fiancé hurtle around an American football pitch attempting to practically kill his opponents whilst they attempt to practically kill him. Whilst the boys got their practise… Read More

In which I go to Heidelberg

20th February 201210th February 2020

Heidelberg is possibly the prettiest city there ever was! It has a castle, a river (Neckar) with arched bridges, lots of church spires and is nestled in a wooded valley. The epitome of picturesque. When I was there it was a very cold and foggy day, so hopefully one day I will visit in… Read More

In which I visit Germany – Frankfurt

9th February 201210th February 2020

Sam & I spent three days and nights in Frankfurt, before I headed south to stay with my friend Emily… I’d done a bit of research before we went, but we went with an open mind as to what we should do! (Sam would disagree with me I think!) On day one we headed… Read More

🍰 Sam treated me to a big box cakes for my birt 🍰 Sam treated me to a big box cakes for my birthday, dropped off by a courier 🥳 If you can't get out for an afternoon tea then this is the next best thing!
It's been a very quiet birthday but after the year we've had it wouldn't have been anything else would it? I just keep thinking back to birthdays past, NYC last year, Germany, South Africa, the Alps, Canary Islands and Czech Republic... hopefully I'll be able to escape for my birthday again in the future! ✈⛵🚄 I miss travelling.

We would've done another walk today (Sam had a day off today too) but our boiler is kaput and we didn't want to come home to a cold house so we stayed in and shivered on the sofa instead!
Also before you come at me for getting in the car to drive to exercise: we live in a flat with no garden on a busy road- we could walk to the beach but I can guarantee we would have seen LOTS of people on pavements on the way and then hundreds (literally - the prom is so busy!) at the beach. Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost Much as I love 'jumper season' I'm over this frost. Our boiler sounds like it's struggling as it whines more than Arlo does when he hasn't eaten in an hour. Much like the rest of you I imagine, I'm feeling a bit numb and fed up right now. I also can't shake this cold/cough (been tested, not covid) and it's been lingering for 3+ weeks now. I fall asleep at the drop of a hat too, like a little old lady and find it hard to get up in the mornings. I just want spring time, normality energy and clear nasal passages IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I've been outside more today than I have for the f I've been outside more today than I have for the for past week. We've basically been hibernating since Christmas eve apart from the odd trip to the shop up the road. Today I walked round Devils Dyke with a friend early in the morning and then went to the beach in the afternoon for the kids to let off some steam. The sun setting was gorgeous and it made me realise I'd missed the sea as I'd not been in ages! Anyway, one more day at home tomorrow (inset day for us!) And hopefully back to school Tuesday but we'll see. For us its the right decision as my children thrive on routine, and I thrive on being able to work without distraction or having to try and teach them!

Happy New Year!
