Stuff on a Sunday #23

22nd March 201510th February 2020

Sunday was Mothers day and I was treated to waffles in bed (the first batch with bacon and syrup and the second with chocolate philadelphia… yep I’m a fatty!) along with some Lindt chocolates, some pregnancy smellies and a card from Athena and one from Athena and the bump via Sam! I was super impressed… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #22

15th March 201510th February 2020

A nicer week than last week, sponsored by naps, baby-parps and not a lot else! I celebrated it being a Sunday by going to do a food shop ON MY OWN! This may seem like a boring and tedious task to many but the opportunity to wander (okay, waddle) freely round the supermarket without a… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #21

8th March 201510th February 2020

This week was sponsored by the words tired and stressful. My first full week of Maternity leave went like this: Sunday seems like so long ago that I genuinely don’t remember what I did (which seems to be a running pattern, as I swear I wrote something similar last week!) but I think perhaps that… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #20

1st March 201510th February 2020

This week was sponsored by the words ‘rain’ & ‘snot’. Sunday was spent feeling sorry for myself because I was still feeling like crap after coming down with the lurgy on Friday, I don’t think we actually left the house! In the morning we built a new square shelving unit thing from Ikea (annoyingly one of… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #19

22nd February 201510th February 2020

So I missed last weeks Stuff on a Sunday post, and I genuinely can’t remember what I got up to on Sunday or Monday this week, which is a slight worry really! Tuesday – Athena was at Nursery and as Sam didn’t have work till 3pm we spent the morning having a big clear out… Read More

Stuff on Sunday #18

8th February 201510th February 2020

Sunday was a bright but chilly day, and after an early morning chai latte and muffin with Chelle we took a lovely stroll through Brighton and along the seafront, where Athena and Fizz (Chelle’s daughter) played on the pebbles and guilt tripped me into paying for them to go on the car rides! After that I… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #17

1st February 201510th February 2020

Early last Sunday morning Sam got up and headed off on his snowboarding holiday with friends. I managed to get back to sleep for a few hours before Athena woke up, and then after breakfast we picked up my friend and her daughter and went to a garden centre for some soft play, some hot… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #16

25th January 201524th December 2016

The weeks are flying by, it seems like barely days since I last wrote a ‘Stuff on a Sunday’ post, however this is being written on a shiny new laptop, tres exciting! But more on that later! Last Sunday was a bit of an arse, Sam had really bad abdominal pains, and had been having… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #15

18th January 201510th February 2020

A wet week, here’s what happened: Monday was a lazy day, full of Cbeebies, book reading and cleaning, with a very wet trip to the Midwife for my 28 week appointment in the afternoon. I don’t have a waterproof coat that does up over the bump, so decided in my wisdom to take Athena on… Read More

Stuff on a Sunday #14

11th January 201510th February 2020

Monday – Finally back in our own King Sized bed after spending the week in a comfy but small double bed at the Mother in Laws, which is no mean feat when your husband is 6’6 tall and I have a baby bump to contend with! We’d got back late the night before so I mostly spent the day… Read More

Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a Ad|gifted🃏🦗🌈 We've been playing #Mantis a lot recently, it's a new game but has quickly become a firm favourite, with us and the friends we've played it with.

Each game lasts around 10 minutes so it's great to play whilst dinners cooking, but you might want to carry on during dinner as it's a little addictive and you'll end up playing a few rounds 🎉

The aim of the game is to score ten points first by collecting sets of coloured cards. Easy right!? No, because other players can sabotage you and steal your cards for themselves (but, you might have the chance to steal them back!)

It's really easy to pick up and Arlo managed to beat us all on his first time playing 🤪 another plus is that's it's very portable and you don't need too much space to play, so perfect to take to friends houses, restaurants and on holiday!

It's from the team who bought us #ExplodingKittens and you can purchase this and other games from explodingkittens.com 💥

Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️ Det Jumping into the weekend 🤸🤸🏼‍♀️
Determined to switch off this weekend, I've been flat out at work for the past two weeks & worked a lot of last weekend too. The problem (which is also a positive) with working freelance is that you can do it anytime but it doesn't necessarily mean you should 🤪
We're spending time with friends, doing some gardening and hopefully some cross stitch on the new garden sofa I spent hours putting together yesterday!

The one time I can (almost) guarantee no squabbling, no asking for snacks and potentially even to be left alone is at the beach.
I didn't bring swimming stuff, a change of clothes or sandals but that didn't stop them going for a swim!

I saw someone say the other day on here that they I saw someone say the other day on here that they found Gardening the most dull thing ever. A year ago I would've agreed, but had never had my own garden as an adult. I'd either lived in a pub (a gardener came and did our windowboxes) or flats with no outside space. When we moved in here there was no grass and a massive shed in the middle of the garden-literally in the middle, 3 feet away from the back wall too 🤪 there was also no flower bed. Sam and I have worked hard since we moved in, making this long planter, and pulling up patio slabs to sow some grass seed. I've got seedlings growing and am planning a mini rockery too. So no, gardening is not dull to me now. I really enjoy it! I'll share more of the garden when the grass has grown and I've planted some more flowers!
